I got a couple of strategies, (covered calls, bull put spreads) under my belt but work and forex eats up most of my time so I haven't had time to really sit and review all that I have learned. I do plan to resume demo trading on options express early this year, however.
I am also interested in currancy options.
I am always looking to collaborate with fellow traders.
I will say this: Puts (make money when stock go down for the uninitiated) and the systems that make use of them definately need to be in the quick draw holster of any trader that plan to make it big this year.
2007, chinese year of the pig will be great. I see many millionaires made this year but even more fortunes downgraded and even downright lost. I am also looking at trading futures from the CME. Make sure your email stays current and when i get down to business on the options side, I'll shoot you one.

Hi, this is something that has always scared the shit out of me. I am a value investor, but would like to get involved in options trading even with a small change to test the water. Do you know how a beginner can start. Please email me at Naijaforward@yahoo.com

hi paddy lo, its nice to note that u've been trading options for 3yrs now. i first learnt 'bout it in one of kiyosaki's books 'guide to investing' and since then i ve been surfing round the net to learn more about it because i realise that this type of trading system doesn't seem to be c'mon in the Nigerian market (yet). i chatted wit one options trading consultant located in singapore, who said that options is mostly traded in mature markets, and suggested i trade in other mature markets from my location, he said leaning will cost me $499 and will only take me 2months wit some follow ups. so please wit ur experience, i need ur advice, and hw viable has this trading system been compare to investing the c'mon way (buy, hold, wait). thanx.

optionsxpress.com has a free demo account that you can learn various strategies which is worth how ever much time you invest in it. If you sign up you get access to their education which is extreamly extensive! Anybody interested in options or trading in general should definately sign-up. @paddy_lo Do you trade any other derivative products? What is your avg rate of return? All the details of options have always confused me. How much capital, and what type of strategy would you suggest for someone to deploy who wants to begin acquiring monthly returns that steadily increase?

@ndbest hey wassup homieyes options is indeed only available in very mature markets, since it is a very complex form of derivative trading which needs lots of market makers, and participants to function effectivelyi guess u could trade from Nigeria, but most online brokers(optionsxpress,e-trade. .and so on),do require a social security number, and a bank account in the US before you can open an account with them, optionsxpress might cater to foriegn customers, but i don't quite know how that works,or what they might require. . Trading options has been very fulfilling for me,it is fast paced, and its quite in its infancy among the general population even here in the US. It is about big risk for big rewardsalso you have to do research daily, cause anything can move markets. . and with options you have the time value which erodes, your moneyi usually mostly make event driven tradesi.e,maybe a takeover candidate,or perhaps a stock earnings is coming out and you suspect an upward surpriseright now i have 15 Western Union(WU). . may 22.5 callsthey release earnings on the 1st of Feb. . i expect them to beat earnings easily, since most analysts do not understand the earnings power of Western UnionI also have Mastercard April 100 CallsMastercard(MA),also releases earnings in February on the 9thi want you to track these stocks and see if they perform as i expect them to. . . WU now trades at 22.25, and mastercard trades at 105.7i expect wu to trade above 24 after earnings and MA to trade up to $120 after earnings on the 9th. so my advise is find out how you can get started then we will discuss more strategiescheers.

@anton wassupi do trade mostly options(calls or puts),but since options express started to trade futures i also traded crude futures once in a while. . . For options this is what i adviseregister with optionsxpress(they have no minimum),then try and start with $2000.When you do that let me know and i will give u some free advise on some trades i am in right nowagain there is no better teacher than experience. . . i will advise u start with simple call or put buying, and focus on new stocks that just went IPO. . like Mastercard (MA),Wester Union (WU),New York Mercantile Exchange (NMX). . .and so on. . . .the reason is that most analyst on wall street do not yet understand these companies and are most likely to undervalue their earnings power and potential. . .(remember GOOGLE,and CME). . .now once u register with Optionsxpress u can start trading with whatever little amount you have. here are 2 trades i want you to make. . . if you can do it before 1st of February. 1.Western Union May 22.5 calls (cost about $170 for each call right now) 2.Mastercard April 100 calls (costs about $1260 for each call right now) WU and MA both release earnings in the first week of february next monthget in on these trades if u cancheers.
