what do you mean buy portlets? Portlets are purely JSP or database based  available on application layer which can be customized

You will need the entire infra that support it; providers, load balancer, application servers(oracle or websphere), database, support analyst etc.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?  I could help you out.

Portlets are pluggable user interface components that are managed and displayed in a web portal. Portlets produce fragments of markup code that are aggregated into a portal page. Typically, following the desktop metaphor, a portal page is displayed as a collection of non-overlapping portlet windows, where each portlet window displays a portlet. Hence a portlet (or collection of portlets) resembles a web-based application that is hosted in a portal. Portlet applications include email, weather reports, discussion forums, and news.

Portlet standards are intended to enable software developers to create portlets that can be plugged in any portal supporting the standards.

This is off of wikipedia- Grin

Thats danger of relying on text-book definition. You don't get the complete picture!

Buying portlet is like saying, I want to buy engine oil while you have no car, or you have  car but no driver.

So they key to going ahead:

what is aim? what objective or businesss requirement you want to meet? what infra that would support this.

That was going to be my next queston, you already have that taken care of. You may want to try posting to the portal/portlet forum at javaranch.

I see what you trying to do; thats why I asked 'what objective or businesss requirement you want to meet?'.

Try Sugar CRM(www.sugarcrm.com) and host of others.
