AC chieftain faults Oyo graduate taxi drivers' schemeBy Olalekan Okusan ACTION Congress (AC) stalwart in Oyo State, Chief Femi Lanlehin, has berated the state government over the use of graduates for its taxi drivers' scheme, arguing that the initiative was "inappropriate" for the targeted group. In a statement yesterday, Lanlehin also described the initiative as "pathetic" and "debasing." His words: "It is a pathetic admission by the Oyo State government that it cannot provide relevant jobs in the various disciplines like Civil Engineering, Geology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Social Sciences and the Liberal Arts for professionals like lawyers, pharmacists, doctors and accounting graduates.
"We ask whether these people need such specialised training on which huge state and family resources have been expended in the universities, to be taxi drivers. Will these well-trained young men and women find fulfillment in their new occupation as taxi drivers?"The AC chieftain argued that it was obvious that the government has no answer or a policy to address the serious crisis of unemployment in the state. http://odili.net/news/source/2009/oct/8/28.htmlHe said: "The state governor is busy gallivanting all over the world with state funds and throwing frivolous parties without developing the infrastructural base upon which employment generation can be anchored in Oyo State."
Quoting the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Lanlehin said Oyo State has the highest number of unemployed graduates in the country. He added: "These university graduates are not only denied gainful employment, they are also fleeced of their meagre sustenance money by asking them to purchase employment forms for N1,500 in 2007, 2008 and 2009 which the said employment were not given."This ludicrous and thoughtless measure exposes the state government for what it is - a government with no vision whatsoever, floundering, wobbling and shuffling as the wind blows it and as it approaches the end of its disastrous tenure."

Person don chop shyt for this country. After wasting 5 years in engineering school, what this fat fool who gallivants around the world with our money can suggest is taxi driving programme after pimping the unemployed by selling the application forms to them.

I really don't blame Alao Akala in this case. It's the stupid graduates who stooped so low to buy application forms for 1700. No wonder our todays graduates have low acumen. If you want to be an Ibadan taxi driver, you do not need Akala's programme to get a cab. Just hang out in the park for 3 months and you will surely land one. Why didn't they stone that ministry that sold the forms to them?.
Akala is working hard to change Oyo state. First he built public toilets and before other governors could catch up, he is buying taxi cabs for Oyo graduates. I am sure his next line of action will be to buy pincers and hammers so that the remaining jobless graduates can easily become carpenters.

WHat is the job requirement.
Do they take Second class Upper or is it just First class?
Must it only be Engineers or can Medical graduates apply too?.
What is the age requirement? How many years work experience is needed?
We need more information and he can also post it on Monster.com

A PHD holder who drives a cab in Nigeria lacks substance. The ones who drive a cab abroad are not citizens on that country and it's quite different from asking him or her to do the same job in his motherland. Instead of insulting these graduates and the parents who paid their school fees, why not ignore them?. If he must give them jobs as agbero, why collect N1700 application fee?. Most of them who wants to do it are complaining that since Akala took their pay 2 years ago, they are still to see a cab. Taking advantage of the poor is inhuman and I hope he burns in hell for that. Why are people whose name are Alao so wicked?. Arisekola Alao is the meanest dwarf from west Africa. I don't know why God still kept him alive.
