The Centre for Human Resources Development (CENHURD) of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, presently located at the Mini Campus, Isale-Igbein, is to finally relocate to the Opeji axis of the University’s Permanent Site.
The University’s permanent site at Alabata Road took off from the Mini Campus which is presently housing the Centre for Human Resources Development (CENHURD).
The University has commenced the process of relocating the over 2,000 students of CENHURD to the 30-hectare site at Opeji Village with a special interdenominational prayers, heralding construction activities at the site.
In his brief exhortation, the University Chaplain, Prof. Christian Ikeobi assured that with the benevolence of the Almighty, a virile and productive academic community with great impact on the neighbouring communities and the nation would soon emerge from the new site.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chief Imam to the University, Dr. Idris Ayinde described the project as divine, observing that since God is involved, the level of transformation would be very rapid.
Special prayers were offered for the success of the project during the programme attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun who was represented by his deputy in charge of Development, Prof. Omolayo Ariyo.
Professor Balogun described the development as a dream come true and assured that contractors would move in immediately to commence construction.
Also speaking, the Director of CENHURD, Dr. Taofeek Salisu expressed strong conviction that the project would be completed without delay and commended the leadership of the University for its unparalleled development initiatives.
