Sentimental

yes deep inside
i want to be the best
at the forefront of virtue
making other happy sharing their pains

so i open up
and that is where
i become vulnerable
many people want me squeezed

into their
mold of what they think
i should be
its true i want to touch others

to help ease their strains
but still i want to be me
no pretense no shades no greys
plain and simple doesnt mean feeble

i will never lose my identity
the core of my personality
i aspire to be a better soul
But still i want to be me

so whats my choice
i open up my heart
knowing i may get hurt
Touch their lives anyway

Moving forward
stepping ahead
the scars on my heart
are my testimony

They don't change
my identity
who i am, what i am
i want to be me
