I left Nigeria for UK because I did not want to continue to live in a country ruled by known criminals, a country where the only winners are criminals, a country where even the law makers are known criminals, a country that has no roads, no water, no electricity, no government, infact a failed state. A country in which the bankers are thieves, the policemen (wetin u carry) are thieves, the evil servants are thieves, the politricians are thieves, the judges are thieves, the lawyers are thieves, the stockbrokers are crooked, the traders are thieves, the mechanics are crooked, the customs and immigration men are crooks, etc etc etc. I can go on and on and on. Dey no dey shame!!!!!!!

that simply means the same system made you a thief before you left for the UK? Whats your take on that?

Out of all these noises- none has provided us a logical way to understand why it is okay for a graduate with a job, a car, a house, a family will decide to sell all of that and go to the UK to live with a 6 months visitor visa. If the above is justified, then, Nigeria must be nowhere but hell.

Both the sponsor and respondents here bemuse me greatly.
whichever way you look at it, the Nigerian people deserve the government and governance they have because they ACCEPT it. I love Nigeria for sentimental reasons and the UK for economic protection and safety. But if you are earning pittance here in the UK, and permanently in a low level without personal development (care arse cleaning job) and turning out children like roaches in your council flat or overcrowded and overshared flat, you might as well call it quit and head back home.

My dear good people in nairaland, i don't see any reason why some people think that there is alot of oppurtunity down there in uk. Nigeria is filled with milk and honey as in richly blessed. so let us join hands together to move  this we own great naija. remember the slogan GOOD PEOPLE GREAT NATION.

This is your first post but unfortunately, it is bullshit. You might be frustrated as a reult of laziness but Iam in Nigeria and Iam not frustrated at all. I'm enjoying myself.

@ poster
You are correct with your views.

Everywhere has its up and downs. racism, tribalism what's the difference? I would rather work in an organisation in UK where there are equal opportunities and diversity policies than take my chances with a tribalistic boss in Naija. At least in UK racism is a criminal offence and people do get convicted. I don't know if tribalism is a criminal offence in Naija. Loneliness? You got lonely people in Nigeria too. You make friends as you want and where you want to. Cold? So what? You got unbearable heat in Abuja, that is why everybody wants an AC car or home. I don't get your point at all Huh Personally, I would rather live in the UK than Naija anyday. Got a fair job which pays the bills. Finished my crib back home, which I doubt I could have done in naija unless I was a thief or lucky to work in a good coy which is only for the few. I am content to be in the UK. I am happy to be in UK. Anyone who wants to live permanently in Niaja, by all means do not hold back. Go have fun and good luck. It is a matter of choice, but do not slag the UK off, just because somebody or something bit you or your arse and caused you grief. Like an earlier poster said, you can go to Tesco or Sainsbury at midnight, try going to your local supermarket in the middle of the night in naija, and when you make it safely come back and tell how you survived. All the best.

personally to me uk is a convinient place to live in in repect to light, no fear of armed robber or police wahala. and also all the benefits that comes with it, but notwithstanding i have decided to go back to naija on completion of my studies next year, armed with my qualifications, work experience, and hoping wil get a good and well paid job.
