I cannot instal any AntiVirus on my system,anytime i try to do so it restarts although the on it installed(escan) the scan engine did not run. i don't know if i should format it. but if i do how do i backup my harddisk?

have u tried running escan in safe mode? you can do that by restarting your pc and before it brings up windows press f8 choose safe mode hope it helps. about the antivirus change the file to read only and run it in safe mode
