Have You Ever Been Broke?
« on: October 16, 2009, 03:54 PM »

Has it ever occured to you one time in your life that you've been actually broke??That you couldnt afford to pay your bills, feed and unable to afford things you actually needed then,  . Looking back now at those days, how do you feel??Or is anyone going through hard times now and wants to share???

What I like about being broke is the meditation and planning to be thrifty and stingy next time I have money

What I hate about being broke is the funny looks and evasive styles your friends and family members give you.

What I enjoy most about being broke is when I get my next success £s. I spend with vengeance.

Too much information. The topic asks have you ever been broke before and not how you fraudulently got your immigration papers.

Have things gotten so bad with us as Nigerians that we no longer have our sense of right and wrong? A lady openly and clearly states a crime that she has committed and people seem to be giving her a well done pat on the back.

I don't live in cuckoo land and I know that some people are desperate enough to do anything to stay in the UK, and I don't have a problem with that.

Not everyone automatically qualifies for UK citizenship and some people will have to "do things" to ensure that they are able to stay here, however to openly detail the crimes they committed to get what they want is taking the piss. . . . . or does anyone want to tell me that they do not know that by getting married just for immigration purposes is a crime? Why broadcast and advertise it?

And to think this topic is in the family section where a lot of peeps are struggling with their "real" day to day marriages someone is making a mockery of the whole institution of marriage.

@showboba and chaircover

i make no apologies for going thr an arranged marriage, at least i got my papers, without my papers, i would have carried on working as a cleaner on £9 an hour, do u know how hard it is to work illegally and as cleaner, all u do is clean 24/7, with my papers, am @ birbeck studying for a degree, arranged marriges are nothing new, it happens all over the world, would u all have preferred me working as a cleaner, i don't care what u lot think, all i know it i live a better life and i do not need a visa to most countries, each to their own,

@ jaybee i was not born in the uk, i make no apologies for travelling to nigeria without a visa, ve got my nigerian passport now so no need to bribe,  y is every acting like they are "holy" .what is this the point of a forum if people cannot be honest? i'd rather b honest than tell lies and fool myself. ,  i wish u all wel,

So arangee marriages are something to be gloated about on an international website and by the way are cleaners not human beings? I’m sure most of us at one point of our life or the other have found ourselves in jobs we don’t like.

The fact that you are just studying for a degree tells me that you didn’t really have that many employable skills to start with, besides some people have worked very hard and paid a lot of tax and NI contributions over a number of years to give you an opportunity to pay home student fees so please don’t come here and gloat over what is so clearly wrong.

No one is judging you, just be a little discrete about it OK

To be honest with you I wouldn't say you didn't suffer to get your papers and also I'm not judging you in any way,
but has it ever occur to you that some of us too who came to this country on working visa do not really have it easy either and as you are quite aware we'll not be entitled to any form of benefits or assistnce from the govetnment until we acquire ILR.

My conclusion is don't you think bogus asylum seekers and ppl with arranged marriages are rather jumping the queue by not playing by the rules? it does really look like cheating when some people studied very hard from Nigeria, acquired skills and migrated legally to Europe and N america are made to look stupid when papers are handed over to bogus asylum seekers and ppl with arrangee marriages,  if you are in their shoe i 'm sure you'll feel the same,

You shouldn't be sorry to anyone.

Arrange marriage is practice all over the world for different reasons. Most Nigerian marriages are arranged. Either by friends or relatives. I will not be fooled with the 'love' thing that most of us profess for marrying someone. Cos by the time they marry someone, they must have said 'I love you' to many.

Most women marry for economic reason.

But I do agree that you shouldn't bare your back in public. Everybody have something to hide.  You may never know who is watching or listening.

Don't you know you can be traced. Watch your mouth.
