« on: October 16, 2009, 04:56 PM »

here is one of the reasons why i think some of  these african american rappers need to be rounded up and dumped on reservations with the key subsequently thrown away. here we have a grown assed 38 year old african american man who did not know a black man by the name of barack obama was running for president and as if that wasnt bad enough when being interviewed instead of being embarrassed by his ignorance he actually goes on to ask the unbeleivable question "damn what the f**** is a barack where he from africa?!!!!!

these are the illiterates some of our nigerian musicians copy and look up to - god help us

If you had taken the time to read the interview well . . . you'd have observed that X was speaking from the POV of a man who just doesn't give 2 flyin' f**ks about a system that equally gives no flyin' f**k about him . . .

So funny I forgot to laugh . . .  Undecided

X is intelligent as well as deep . . . read the interview well - you think he's literally saying he'd never heard the name "Barrack Obama"??

Hear him - "I don't care. No one person is directly affected by which president . . . so what does it matter"?? . . . X is a no-nonsense dude . . . and when he talks, he does so with that familiar in-yo'-face attitude . . .

I'm tired of dudes following fads and jumping on the friggin' bandwagon . . . first black American President - so freakin' what??

How has that put food on ya table?? Or on any black man's table??

@bamsyle you're chatting crap - this guy is a total idiot  - what kind of idiot is so self absorbed that they dont even feel the need to take notice of whats going on around them, also notice how he tries to slate obama by stupidly ridiculing his name and asking the ridiculous question "where he from africa" where the hell does he himself think he is from - what a dumbass"  if thats your own example of an intelligent person that says a lot about you

secondly even if we are to accept that he is a self obsessed idiot who has no time to care about what goes on around him why would he brazenly and openly demonstrate this by admitting it publicly, you've got to be kidding me if you're trying to defend this fool  - whats intelligent about this guy, how meaningful are the lyrics to any of his songs, the last time i checked he was advocating murder and violence whats intelligent about that, you must be having a laugh mate.

this guy is about as deep as a paddling pool - all he cares about is exploiting and brainwashing people like you who cant think for themselves , he's laughing all the way to the bank on the back of people like you dude.

and btw first african american president IS an acheivement - it might not put food on the tables of most black people in america but it sure as hell is giving a lot of racist whites sleepless nights and a lot of blacks a psychological boost.

oh and btw please dont call him X as people might think he subscribes to the teachings of the nation of islam who recognise their african ancestry not this brainwashed slave who doesnt even understand that all black people are africans.

oh so DMX's ignorance should be  excused because Obama was not yet president -anyone with half a brain cell would understand the historical significance of a black person running for the highest office in the land and pay attention but to your mind its just "propaganda and nutin more"  - this is why our race is in the story state that its in because people like you show no interest in important  issues.

for every one of the above songs you have mentioned i can mention a couple more of his songs with offensive lyrics, here goes:

"Ama kill you"
"blown away"
"commin for ya"
"crime story"

and no i dont bother listening to rappers bragging about guns and violence as its complete and utter mind pollution, i dont listen to will smith either as i find his music bland but these sorry assed rappers pretending to be macho but exploiting weak minded individuals with all the misogyny and violence that they spew is to me doing the black community a gross disservice.

see my comments above - just in case you missed it rappers are modern day poets  and have a responsibilty to their listeners,  using words like nigga, biatch, hoe shows them up for the low life scum that they are - they should be offering something better than that - music is a powerful medium and shoudl be used in a positive form ie  to convey useful information/knowledge  - a lot of young people are more likely to memorise and understand the lyrics to most popular rap artists songs than the words of shakespeare in julius caesar.

Nah I don't know what sarcasm is . . . please school me . . .

Close that tattered dictionary you're reading from and use simple logic here - the fact that X claimed not to be following the presidential race does not literally mean he had never heard about Obama . . . don't be so shallow-minded - when you read, pay attention not only to what's said but what's unsaid . . .

Hombre, all you need do is pay attention to details . . . you have a short attention span . . .

A lackwit of 6 years would understand what I'm saying here - X obviously ain't interested in the system . . . he won't make conscious efforts to know who the candidates are . . . he can only stumble upon them on his TV set, radio, newspapers, or other forms of the Media . . . Obama's popularity b4 the elections is nowhere near what it is now . . . today, X would have to be hiding under a rock in Malawi to claim he does not know who Obama is . . .

I'm tired of typing essays in here . . . did you get that?? I doubt that you did!!!

Your autism keeps coming to the fore . . . see ya reason for the state of ya race?? Did you vote for Obama?? Was that the first time a black person was running for office?? Why didn't you apply to be Jesse Jackson's campaign manager if it meant so much to you??

Do you worry about people getting the wrong perception of you?
No, I really don’t. People could say what they want. I don’t really care. I don’t give a mess.

Clearly, yeah.
Anything that’s not positive, I don’t have the energy to focus on it. Anything that’s not going in the right direction I don’t have the time or the energy. If somebody step to my face, I’ma take care of ’em, that’s something different. What people think, I don’t give a mess about none of that shit ’cause they ain’t putting money in my pocket. They ain’t taking no money out of my pocket. They all suck privates when they see me so it really doesn’t matter.

Are you following the presidential race?
Not at all.

You’re not? You know there’s a Black guy running, Barack Obama and then there’s Hillary Clinton.
His name is Barack?!

Barack Obama, yeah.
Barack?!

Barack.
What the mess is a Barack?! Barack Obama. Where he from, Africa?

Yeah, his dad is from Kenya.
Barack Obama?

Yeah.
What the mess?! That ain’t no fuckin’ name, yo. That ain’t that nigga’s name. You can’t be serious. Barack Obama. Get the mess outta here.

You’re telling me you haven’t heard about him before.
I ain’t really paying much attention.

I mean, it’s pretty big if a Black…
Wow, Barack! The nigga’s name is Barack. Barack? Nigga named Barack Obama. What the mess, man?! Is he serious? That ain’t his fuckin’ name. Ima tell this nigga when I see him, “Stop that bullshit. Stop that bullshit” [laughs] “That ain’t your fuckin’ name.” Your momma ain’t name you no damn Barack.

So you’re not following the race. You can’t vote right?
Nope.

Is that why you’re not following it?No, because it’s just—it doesn’t matter. They’re gonna do what they’re gonna do. It doesn’t really make a difference. These are the last years.
But it would be pretty big if we had a first Black president. That would be huge.I mean, I guess…. What, they gon’ give a dog a bone? There you go. Ooh, we have a Black president now. They should’ve done that shit a long time ago, we wouldn’t be in the fuckin’ position we in now. With world war coming up right now. They done fucked this shit up then give it to the Black people, “Here you take it. Take my mess.”
Right, exactly.
It’s all a fuckin’ setup. It’s all a setup. All fuckin’ bullshit. All bullshit. I don’t give a mess about none of that.

We could have a female president also, Hillary Clinton.
I mean, either way it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. No one person is directly affected by which president, you know, so what does it matter.

Yeah, but the country is.
I guess. The president is a puppet anyway. The president don’t make no damn decisions.

The president…they don’t have that much authority basically?
Nah, never.

But Bush pretty much…
You think Bush is making fuckin’ decisions?

He did, yeah, he fucked up the country.
He act like he making decisions. He could barely speak! He could barely fuckin’ speak!
Can’t be serious. He ain’t making no damn decisions.

Well Barack has a good chance of winning so that might be something.
Good for him, good for him.

How’s your family and your kids?
They’re good. My son is rapping now.

Did he see you? I’m sure he was inspired by you.
Yeah, yeah. all that. Took him to shows and everything.

What does your wife Tashera think about him rapping?
She likes it. She’s the one who told me. She told me.

Did you talk to him? What do you tell him about the industry? Do you give him advice about the industry?
He knows it, he knows all that shit. Ah, man. I give him some advice.

What kind of advice do you give him? Like, watch out for, you know…
Advice about life, advice about girls, whatever a father would tell his son. Everything. Advice about everything. Everything. Advice about everything.

Do you think you’ve been a good father up ’til now?
[Pauses] I don’t know. I’ve done the best that I could.

I guess you never know, right?
They’re all well mannered. I hope I instilled something positive in ’em.

Would you ever do a second—like, your reality show again? ’Cause the first one did pretty well.
Yeah, I will.

After that Snoop had a show and Irv Gotti so it kind of kicked off the reality shows after you did it. Right?
Yeah I guess. Good for them. Everybody’s doing it big.

What do you think about Lil Wayne? People think he’s the hottest rapper.
He is nowhere near the hottest nothing right now. You can’t be serious.

Why do you say that? He’s on like every song.
He has to do that.

Is there anybody that you’re excited about? Are there any new rappers that you’re excited about?
No. No.

What was the last time you got excited about a new rapper? When was the last time that you really liked somebody that was coming out?
I don’t recall being excited about a new rapper ever.

Is it that bad?
No it’s not that bad. I just don’t, I’m real picky about what I mess with.

Right, you don’t really listen to other people?
Nah, not really.
Here is part of the interview where he talked about Obama. He said he wasn't paying much attention later in the same interview. Sincerely speaking at the time this interview was conducted I haven't taken any serious interest (not that I've been interested in him since then though). Mine could be excused (I'm a Nigerian) but, seriously do you think DMX didn't know Obama or He just didn't care whoever is running for the US No 1 seat be it black, white, asian, hispanics, etc.

I find it difficult commenting on NL cos of the way most sensible discussions degenerate into petty arguments. So Cap and Bamsyle I think u guys should try to cool it okay

Most sensible discussions?? Petty arguments??

Ok . . . I'll borrow ya lines - I find it easy commenting on NL cos of the way most insensible posts/threads attract much more irrational rejoinders . . .

You call the OP's post a discussion?? A sensible one at that?? Read through his opening post again and tell me the number of insults in there . . .

Anyone is free to express his disbelief in a system . . . and folks who're not fans of face value would easily know that X simply did that in that interview . . .

You're free to dislike a particular genre of music . . . but going about hurling cheap insults on the practitioners of that music??

That's intolerable.

God bless your imam for imparting knowledge into you . . .

People just like to give out blames generously . . . meanwhile, I'm sure the OP and his harem never really thought much of Obama at that period . . . and now, over a year after the said interview was conducted, they sneak outta hiding and wanna behead DMX in their "holier than thou" fashion . . .

DMX is opinionated . . . he takes no BS . . . he doesn't give a hoot about the system . . . why crucify him for that??

Hehe, that you're Nigerian is even no excuse . . . didn't you see how folks were organizing owambe parties for and naming streetz after Obama in Nigeria?? They organized fund-raising events for him  . . . some folks even went as far as naming their kids after him and designing aso ebi in his honour . . .

Nigerians are the most confused set of people God ever made . . . some folks went as far as borrowing money to attend his inauguration but ended up being deported fast . . .  Grin Grin Grin

Fcuk Obama . . .  Grin Grin Grin

Why ask God to bless my Imam and not me? Cry Grin
Seriously, The world is fucking small that you can know anything you are interested in in a matter of seconds. Barack Obama is not even that complex to study all it took me then was just typing his name on the google image search to see what he look like. Up till date I've not taken him serious cos like X I also believe they (politicians) are all birds of a feather.

Bros. If you ask me any time that I ever felt bad being a Nigerian the most It will definitely be the time so many owambes were being organised in the country in the name of an Obama who did not want to have anything to do with them Angry Angry

Preach it . . .

Nor mind these self-righteous peops . . . some of them even claim Obama as their mom's uncle's dad's brother . . . one of these days, a random fellow from a Nigerian village would claim that he's Obama's stepson . . . how can a Maryland-born, Yonkers-raised Earl Simmons really be expected not to know Obama??

Hehehe, trust Nigerians and their frenzied but short-lived excitement over stuff . . . I'm sure they're waiting for the next thing that'll make them borrow money for aso ebi . . . there was more celebration on the streetz of Naija than Kenya at that time . . . they think Obama gives a fcuk about them??

And I ask where is the Obamamania that swept across the country like an endemic disease some months ago??

More like a flash in a pan if you ask me.

Next time you read or hear any piece of news . . . think . . . think again . . . and think again . . . then, if you must, talk . . .

You had a whole 19 months to think about that interview . . . a baby born 19 months ago would be walking and talking now . . .

What have you been doing with ya common sense, Mister crap28??
