People don't get it.. HAUSA IGBO AND YORUBA are the main Tribes.. while the rest are just Ethnics/ethics groups.. or summin summin like that..

They tot me this thing in social studies class back then. I can't remember real good.

Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba and any other group in Nigeria are all ethnic groups, the word 'tribe' is actually derogatory and really shouldn't be used at all. Have you heard anyone call the English, Welsh or Germans a tribe??

'Unfortunately, the early European writers used the term "tribe" to refer to a group of uncivilised people, as if it had a different meaning from the term "ethnic group". A European writer will refer to ethnic Albanians (because they are Europeans and refer to the Nanumba tribe)'  - http://www.ethnonet-africa.org/pubs/p95boaten.htm

Anyway sha me i think 'ijebu' girls rock!!!!!   Grin Grin

i still can't believe we have conversations like this today. always trying to start something to separate us as if we're not separated enough. funny how there's stereotypes that follow people of different ethnic groups. i believed that all yoruba people are really dark but i have seen so many different shades i don't believe it anymore. Now people say all igbo girls are fair skinned, well i happen to be one of those dark skinned igbo girls and i'm guessing that means something has to be wrong. i have also seen some tiny yoruba girls who don't fit all that big booty nice frame stereotype. now for hausas, i haven't met any so i can't really say. it's time all this nonsense stops. we're not getting anywhere with it. people like what they like and you can't say that one group of people look better. each person is beautiful in their own way.  Huh Undecided

lets use elimination method.. Yoruba girls athoumatically should be disqualified when it comes to beauty..then lets talk about Hausa and the Igbos..hmm hausa girls sometimes look like the river girls which i concider the most beautiful girls in nigeria.......hmm the igbos...they get something there too. Chioma and Igbania dareg.....hmm who is better? I don't like Igbanis fallen breast therefore Chioma being an igbo..Igbo girls are better than the three.

yoruba chicks, they seem to be more respectful, resourceful and more of achievers.. i feel they are the most intelligent of the pack, and they got style & taste.. ibo chicks are fine, hausa chicks are pretty & decent, southern chicks are hot & sexy, while yoruba chicks are the most beautiful.

Well I have listened patiently to you guys and since most of you don't want to agree that BEAUTY is in the eye of the beholder,I will now give my verdict. Here goes: Not wanting to generalize, I wil say Northern gals are the prettiest! Hmmmm....Now i feel alot better.Yes I finally said it  Cheesy
All y'all going on and on about Yoruba and Ibo gals and how pretty they are, why wont u say they're pretty with all the Banke Meshidas and House of Tara and the rest? Roll Eyes
Do you know what omowunmi akinifesi looks like without her make up on? I do. Do you know what Agbani looks without her make up on? I do! So before y'all start talking about beauty, off with the PANCAKE! But if you want to see beauty in its natural state come to the north. Tongue
And I pity you guys oh. On your wedding night when you take your wife home and she turns into a GOOEY EYED MONSTER,who wants to jump into your bed for some wrestling, I hope you wont jump out of bed and come to nairaland seeking ASSYLUM! Shocked Grin
@chigurl. Take a chill pill. We on naira sometimes do these things for fun,its no big deal. If anyone tries to harass you, harass them back and u know uncle admin is there to penalize defaulters.  Cool

Alheri didn't make a speech. She made a comment! Cool  To me, hausa girls are rubbish. Most of them are too black and they apply this stuff on their eyebrows/lids that makes them look like statues. Tongue

Calabar girls are simply the best, they are beautiful in the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, everywhere.. they are the most sensitive, romantic, sexy, best cooks, nice accent and take care of their men well, that's what I call all round beauty.

Now, who still wants to compete with them calabar chicks?

mamba: how intelligent are the Calabar girls?

IAH: Yoruba girls are too much trouble.  100% of the ladies I have fought with and absolutely could not reconcile with have been Yoruba.  Not 99%, 100%.  Meanwhile it has been so easy to get along with girls from all over Nigeria or even elsewhere.

What a thing to say! You have been meeting the wrong Yoruba girls and have just been lucky to meet the right girls of other tribes. It's possible for it to have happened the other way round.

Yoruba girls...we rule o!
Talk of beauty...we have it.
Brains...we have it.
Good cooking skills...we have it.
Bedmatics...we have it.
Good behaviour...we have it.
That's why all the men of the other nigerian tribes keep chasing us around!

I'll have you know that Yoruba girls are the most intelligent and educated in Nigeria and as such, you just can't treat them the way you want and expect them to behave like mumu. I trust my Yoruba girls anytime, they tell you the fact and go sraight to the point, that's why you have problems with them..

@IAH, I know Yoruba girls rule, they also cook good and got brains, I'll give them number 2 position after them Calabar chicks, they are just too much..
