Is Your State Governor Performing.,?
« on: October 19, 2009, 06:24 PM »

Due to the corruptible nature of most state governors,it is really hard to know if there's any governor in this country that does not steal public fund.,how do you rate your state governor?.Is it performing or not

@Poster, how do you measure performance though? I just got into it with someone who posted pictures of water fountains and claims of their being airconditioning in public buses as signs that his governor is performing.  We need a more concrete way of measuring performance so we can easily separate the same old nonsense we have seen over and over from clear and real change from the status quo.

It is not stealing of money we should be discussing here but how well organised is the state funds.

@kobojunkie
in as much as i will agree that there should be a parameter for measuring good governance,i will like to say that politics and governance should be seperated,until then,i dont think those idiot will justify the huge allocation they collect every month

@Poster, you might want to spend a bit more time then on actually defining your take on PERFORMANCE. Like I said, all you need to do is browse a couple of threads to see pictures people claim equals performance. Like I said, someone just posted a picture of a WATER FOUNTAIN as backup for his claim that his governor is one of the few performing in the country, when another asked of when free and quality education will become available to all. lol

That is all i ask of public officials, at present.
anybody asking for saints in the present circumstances is dreaming.
let them work first.
if they truly work,by work i mean putting the needs o the people first, fashioning out ways of meeting those needs and implementing those plans, then there will be less to steal.
if every governor restricts his stealing to the unaccountable security vote they get every month (which runs into up to 100 million for ND states) then naija will be a better place.
we need to start from somewhere first.
give your friends contract but let them be qualified for the contracts you award to them.
let them execute it effectively and if they do not,let the law take effect without your interference.
if Annenih fixed lagos-sagamu, benin-ore road and fixed it well,who will be most worried if he was given a 20million naira kick back?
the truth is that millions have been voted for road maintainence, roads have gotten worse than ever,lives are still been lost on those roads and the money is no where to be seen and the thieves parade their wealth while attributing it to hard work and God's grace.

to answer the question, my own governor is not performing.

Mine should be the worst out of all the governors.

He is busy with his second term agenda ;erecting his campaign billboards all over the states and buying people over to support his second-term campaign with public fund. He lacks vision, idea and even charisma for such an office,

He is the one and only bleaching ADEBAYO ALAO AKALA of Oyo State    Embarrassed Sad Angry Cry

I am not really going to say I am happy for you being able to turn the other eye as you claim your government "chops" money. I would like to know what you mean when you say your government is performing. I mean is he performing, as in purchasing taxis for graduates and calling that job creation? Is he digging VIPit toilets and singing of how that makes the lives of people better? Is he building "sand" roads and calling them advancement? Which one please? If you have links, please provide those as well so we can better understand the PERFORMANCE of the government.

All of you keeps talking about how these people chop money. I could remember a friend of mine. I won't mention his name. he is still a governor now. Before he became gov, his party called a fund raiser for him, here in London. We all contributed, as at that time no one knows him. Before the end of the election I asked him a question, How were you able to fund this campaign because I know the amount that was raised that day was not much. He said he had to sell 2 houses here in London.

I asked him another question. How would you make these venture profitable? I won't tell you his answer, but put yourself in his shoes. Firstly won't you buy your houses back? or buy something better before listening to the public's needs.

That does not mean I agree with those chop and quench,  But any business that is not profitable is not worth doing. Politics is profitable only if common sense is mixed.

Fashola is performing o

He recently ensured the renovation from Ketu to Ikorodu town but to and fro which is my route

I enter BRT to the Island and i have entered the jetty once from ikorodu

Traffic lights in Ikorodu has helped a lot

I feel he could do more if he ensures construction of the fourth mainland bridge but maybe i am just pushing my luck.

As it is now. i wont trade fashola as governor for anyone not even obama. A government that has an impact on the every day lives of an average citizen like me is a true government
