Glo advertised their prepaid 3g data service in the punch of 19th October, 2009. its similar to MTN. it has a day pack of 24hrs (N500), month packs qualified as min and max for around N10K or so, and data charged as per volume. i couldnt get to bring the paper home so cant remember the precise names and cost. A quick check on their site revealed nothing. So i decided to try the day pack. i sent 'activate' to 127 and got the options. N500 was deducted and acknowledged but i subsequently was billed on PAYG and i lost my remaining credit. i was not put on the day pack even though i was charged for it. it was really fast i must say. i managed to get through to customer care. they couldnt help. they refered me to a number Glo itself says it doesnt exists. 10 hrs in to my 24hrs i still cant browse. on the plan. i cant bear another 30 mins on the phone waiting my turn for customer care. Does anybody have any info on this latest glo offering, any experience? i thought with glo 1 all fired up data will be cheaper. whats your take? [color=][/color][color=][/color]

simply subscribing to any of the package thru sms to 127 should get you activated for the 3G service. the main issue is having the right access point or 3G configurations on your phone. i tried the all day 50mB plan. i got the 3G signal showing on my phone but can't browse. i have 5 access points including the 3G settings. none worked. with MTN this can't happen. you can use any MTN access points to browse. glo should have just one access point that works regardless of the package.

Funny tin is wen i activated my line dey didnt include d glo3gvideo APN but i was stil able 2 browse wit glosecure APN(i.e per kb) n also mk video calls wit my fone( tho @ neck-brkn charges!!)
Am surprised dey v nt rilly gotten a grip on prepaid 3G intanet[color=][/color]

same here, ave activated 2 prepaid sims already and de r showing 3g signals but I cant browse. I figured one has to use it with their modem, the cofiguration shld be in d modem. Anyone with their modem should let us know the APN and USERNAME/PASSWORD for the prepaid 3g. |

finally the my glo 3.5G is browsing, both on phone and PC. mehn!! the speed is very good. pages open swiftly. is like i will berth my ship here. i am using my laptop's in built modem right now.

mine too is workin now. . . .i suscribed 2 d day plan arnd 3pm 2day n cudnt do anytin wit any of d APNs. . . .had 2 call c.c & was told it normally takes abt 3hrs 4 it 2 b fully activated
Wel am currently on fone nw tru GLOSECURE apn & its quite ok, wil try it on pc via pc suite & probly my usb modem since it works tru urs

Imagin! wen i cald cc, d guy opened up 2 me n said my wap n mms hv nt bin activated (evn afta recivn d settin & gettin d 3G sign) i hd 2 beg d guy 2 activate it 4 me n hopefuly by 2morow all d settings shd b ok
