Liverpool Vs Manchester Utd [2 - 0] On Sunday 25th October
« on: October 23, 2009, 08:35 AM »

It's going to be a huge clash as Liverpool welcome the Red Devils to Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool are on their worst run of form in 22 years. Rafael Benitez's side have lost four games consecutively, two in the Champions League against Fiorentina and Lyon, and twice in the league against Chelsea and Sunderland, to leave their aspirations of success at home and abroad hanging by a thread.
Liverpool face United without key players Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres who are out injured. Torres and Gerrard are the backbone of Liverpool's attack, so one has to wonder what alternative Benitez will put forward on Sunday.
Ngog, Babel, Voronin, Kuyt are some of Benitez's danger men, and we should have two of these leading the pack.
Carragher hasn't been too impressive in defense, but as squad depth isn't something the Scousers possess, he has got to up his game and do better for his team.
One thing Liverpool will have going for them though is drive and determination. A loss will surely spell the end of their Premiership title challenge, so they will go all out to avoid that. Besides, they will also want to prove their consecutive journey of losses has come to an end.

United head to Anfield in considerably fine form. The Red Devils have taken 22 points from 27 available this season, and look to get a lot more.
United's play hasn't been very impressive in most of their games so far, but somehow they always manage to come out with 3 points.
Rooney, Giggs, Evra, Fletcher and Park -the 5 who missed the trip to Russia for the UCL game against CSKA Moscow - are expected to be available for this game, though Fletcher is a minor doubt as there's no news on the extent of his injury.
Sir Alex has been resting players in anticipation of this game.  .  .goes to show how much he wants a win.
With Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic available in defense, the backline seems set.
The presence of Giggs in midfield and Rooney in attack is another considerable boost to the team. United are most likely to proceed with their usual 4-4-2 formation on Sunday, using width, strength and fluidity.

Liverpool are in poor form, but it doesn't mean they won't throw all they've currently got at United. There promises to be no dull moment during this game.  .  .let's hope there will be no beach balls too. Or let's hope there will be beach balls.  .  .depends on which side of the fence you're on. Grin
