Like someone has already said, sex is a taboo subject which recently has become more tolerated and praised in everyday media.

In the past saying the word would cause an uproar, now having nudity on tv barely causes a battered eyelid, I guess that's just the way it is.

This one you people are talking of the past, have anyone of you lived there? Abi how old are you?
The past is the past and non of you know how it really was. I get your point with the whole morality thing, but truth is sex has always run wild, in all societies. What has happened now is the 'media'. Thats whats new.
People were hypocrites in the past oh. Do you know how many women and men in our culture slept around. Just take a look at so called strangers sometimes and see how many people look alike. Abi havnt you come accross such? You see someone and know that a friend of yours has to be their cousin because of the similarities. And then it turns out the person is Ibo and your friend is hausa.
Many of them have either the same fore fore father or mother. But back then, no one discovered the infedelity.

So i get your point oh, but the past had a lot of hypocricy. Society was very hypocritical and the present is full of imoraity. No one is better. So lets not psyche ourselves. Its the age, and this is its manifestation, disturbing as it is!

We need to wonder before the name changes to porn romance section 


That's exactly what i am saying and with the little we are exposed now the effect is alarming. I wonder what the effect will be when we eventually get to the Hollywood stage where kids kiss on TV and with all those raw poking in their movies. Nollywood has already started with kissing anyway and people are itching for the real action.


Thanks sister and just like you i am alarmed because i never knew we have gotten to this level until i stumbled on this section. The sexuality section is something else . We are slowly building up a profile that is a model of the Hollywood romance industry.


We never lived there sister but my idea is based on the experience and sexual education i had growing up and documentary evidence from some movies about the past. hen ever love is described about people in the past they never mentioned the word sex but these days hmm let me seal my lips. You are right about the past as well judging from the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Some American movies about cultures in the past also portrays them having sexual orgies sometimes in the movies. There are pictures and documented evidence but still it was not worst like this. American also was not sexually bankrupt like this 100 years ago.

It will be nice if you compared the sexual exposure you had growing up with what is obtainable now. Yeah they were hypocrites even like me ( Talking as if i am a saint ) and surely i know we are in the age but i am trying to say that we never thought we could catch up so quickly to this madness caused by the media. Very disturbing that if i am made the minister of culture, information and national orientation, i might be forced to introduce some draconian measures to curb this disturbing trend in our society.
