Fifa U-17 World Cup:n6m Goes Missing At Lagos Centre
« on: October 25, 2009, 02:06 AM »

A sum of N6 million meant and approved for the refurbishment of five blocks of building at the Teslim Balogun Hostel for the youth office of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup has disappeared into thin air.

The building, if refurbished, is to accommodate the kids to be used as flagbearers, ball boys and escorts to teams during the championship.

Sunday Tribunesports scooped that funds had been approved and collected by a top officer in the Lagos Sub-Seat in the facility department.

It was also discovered that an agreement have been signed by the facility committee with Vita Foam to provide 116 foams and double bunk beds for the kids but all these were abandoned when the money earmarked for the refurbishment of the blocks at the hotel could not be traced.

The kids, numbering about 58, had been forced to shuttle between the stadium and their houses.

Further findings revealed that the kids are expected by FIFA to stay near the match venue for proximity as is being done in FIFA- organised World Cup championships.

Effort to get the facility and venue manager; Mr. Godson Uti speak on this issue failed as he turned aggressive when approached for comments.

It's like the people we have in our sport sectors are more corrupt than any Nigerian. That's how some money got missing at NFF office.
Those guys are criminals, they need to be hanged.
when will Nigerians see assignments as call to service , not a means to loot fund?
Haba Nigeria!

you may wish to ask NFF for the money. they are the ones that gave the money wings and they also know the destination of the money. this is very shameful.
