Many times its a feeling of insecurity. Girls have been told (by other girls, or guys) that if they don't hook their guy by having sex with him, the guy will leave them. That's how many of them start. For others, its curiousity, the need to try out what their friends tell them. But emotions are like a very wild animal, everyone thinks he/she can tame them until the day it turns on its owner and rips their heart out.

And just like every other habit, it will soon grow into compulsion. The guys expect the girls to sleep with them, and the girls expect the guys to expect it. In a vicious cycle, many are not spared. Guys may hate me for saying this, but the truth is that IF AT ALL there should be pre-marital sex, its the girl's choice to give herself to the guy or not. A guy who demands sex from a girl is a useless guy: Girls are more liable to AIDS and other STDs (because of a higher surface area of contact), they are the only ones who run the risk of pregnancy, and ALSO they are the ones that people will point dirty fingers at in the future, saying "She is not a virgin" as if the guys she slept with are virgins.

On a final note, I always say that Virginity is something that should be GIVEN AWAY, and not LOST. Given away, without any regrets ever.

It's people like you that give guys a bad name. But you wont be the first, I have been accused of not being a man, all the way from JSS to SSS to University to NYSC and afterwards. How do you explain women who got married as virgins and their husbands

1. just woke up one day and left them

2. left them because she couldn't get pregnant

3. the women found someone else

virginity has no business with happiness and vice-versa. Just don't have sex with every man you date and don't get pregnant under any circumstances for a man that isn't your husband.


There are women who got married as virgins and STILL ended up as single mothers, or divorced for one uncontrollable reason or the other,

In fact, that was one reason why I stepped in b4 those 3 guys. I knew they just wanted to sleep with that girl and move on, but I really liked her.

i dont think it is right for girls at age 15-18 to have sex as they are not yet matured, and its not every girl who has premarital sex that has unwanted babies. but then again who are we to judge them? am sure there are other sins we commit asides premarital sex, its not like they r serial killers or something. i have read some of your post sweetiepie on the topic of virginity and i think u r self righteous and a hypocrite. i think a guy would rather have a wife who is not a virgin but is understanding and wouldnt jugde him, than a woman who is a hypocrite.
