The way you say "navigation issue" makes it sounds as if the web developer didn't know what he/she was doing.The navigation of the site was DELIBERATELY made to be different from every other tom,privates and harry sites.Of course it will take a lil time to get used to but that is the work of a creative web designer/web programmer.Not everyone aspires to be like the rest you know.Being creative and doing something different takes genius.That's the truth.
The first thing that strikes you when you access the site is one word : DIFFERENT! ! !

People criticizing,how many have u done or how many can u do?
Basketmouth was in Uk when the proposal was made,he was in Uk when the site was
created. As a matter of fact,the initial site contained less flash effects but Basketmouth said
he wanted something better. He saw this and asked it to be published. Appreciate and stop hating. Basketmouth is cool with it,so deal with it!

maybe not a heuristic one but definitely a usability test should have been carried out at the very least.
I am liking most of the comments so far. Most reflect what I wanted to say but didn't want to, so as not to influence anyone. Please keep them coming.

no, not my competitor. My thing with these reviews is that I want our sites to compete that of others in other countries, if not be outright better. In no way, do I intend to do bad belle. We have reached a stage where "it's okay" won't cut it, in terms of web development.
The site is aesthetically good but as many have pointed out, it is lacking in terms of usability.
basket mouth may be cool with it but the site isn't for him but his fans. If his fans can't access it, of what use is it? Will he be the sole visitor?

no one is hating I believe the dude did a good job but i wrote its was not easy to navigate - That was what i noticed If i cant navigate around the site, shouldnt i point it out- did you see the first post at all? I also noticed u catchin feelins because u know basket mouth, well miss I dont care if bmouth proposed this in Namibia, dis has nothing to do with basketmouth - we're discussin' the website. @tboy1

it took me almost 90secs @dgreatrock I presume it's multilinks dial up.If that's the case, you cant' complain.I was on multilinks dial up way back in the day and their service could be pretty annoying especially when it rains (once rain start, network don go be that). There should be a few broad band networks in your region.If you are willing to upgrade, do some research.Dem dey.Just do some checkings  |

good to see positives roll in. the initial barrage of criticism has died since peeps started analysing b4 conclusion. i mean check out the first page and you wonder why common reasoning flew outta the window. about navigation, well i navigated without hassles. i believe this borders on how fluent you are with the internet. i mean someone here mentioned people have issues navigating facebook. yep he should - if 50% of your user cannot access the site den there is no point, and the other 50% having it hard to navigate then he should check it out.lol . . .seriously that thing was not needed - he should remove it and have a message like ''Enter site' instead of basketmouthdottv. we already know its basketmouthdot tv because we wrote the damn link ourselves  you definitely wont blame seun if some newbies find nairaland or zuckerberg for facebook, if some peeps find their sites difficult to navigate or accesss due to their archiac systems now, will ya? |

I think what is happening here is some posters are used to "how we go do?" syndrome and accept things as is. It is like going to a cafe with slow connection and most of the ppl there are patiently sitting for things to download (I have seen this) and when you complain, you are looked at as if you have leprosy.
The site is aesthetically sound. In fact, to me, it has pushed the boundaries. Having said that, it is lacking in many areas of usability:
1) It takes a while to load
2) There is no point having 2 landing pages. Just show me the home page
3) When checking videos for example, I have to "chase" the thumbnails. This shouldn't be. Just show me the videos
4) There is no obvious way to click "back"
I will just stop at these 4. Again, this site is for his fans. If you choose to suffer, fine. I want a site that is straightforward and easy to navigate. Web development is both an art and a science. You don't just do things because you can. we live in a world where ppl need instant gratification. On websites, the name of the game is reducing the number of clicks as much as possible.
There is a popular web dev book, for those in the know. It is called, "Don't make me think". Perhaps some of us on this thread should go get it and read it.

@: yawa-ti-de Please go to www.sony.com and try opening the list of "home theaters".Tell me how "easy" it was for you to do this.If basket mouth's website takes you a life time to open, Sony's website will take a millennium.Like i said earlier on, if it takes time to load on your system, it's either due to your system or the internet connection.I have no problems opening it here at all.I'm surfing through it like it's holiday season in Hawaii.Not long ago, people complained of how "complex" you tube was.I still have problems logging into my bank online.Every website is different abeg.You just can't expect every website you come across to be simple php based scripts. 2 wrongs don't make a right. This is yet another flaw in some of us as Nigerians. Just cos oyibo site is bad, it doesn't mean ours has to be bad as well. Just cos facebook looks the way it is, therefore we have to use it as an excuse to develop "skinny" websites.
This isn't a philosophy and logic class where we have to prove me wrong by contradiction. I never said that basket mouth's site is all bad. I said it is actually nice-looking but could use some improvements.
Again, no need to google the world of websites to "make yawa look bad" or whatever words you choose to use. Step back and evaluate my comments on the merit. The site could use some improvements and I stand by that statement.
