It seems like Nigerians are always in the news these days, a Nigerian was caught after he killed the mother of his three beautiful kids. I saw the story just this morning on Fox News Channel. I wonder what would make this fella kill his kids mother. This tragic story is not an isolated incident but is now becoming a familar scene in the Nigerian community based in the US. Last year in Dallas, a Nigerian man killed his wife, and I think there have been a couple of so in the USA. There is absolutely no reason that one could present for this senseless killing that may unfortunately traumatize the victims (the kids) and further isolate them from their father. I really don't know why, some people may use stress as an excuse, but arent we all in the same boat in the USA making ends meet? Why resort to violence, when there are other avenues to resolve your problems? I know the USA could be an isolated place, but please, there is no compelling reason that should compel one to commit homicide.

Yeah I saw the news story and was shocked by it. Even though I live in Maryland, I only know what they say in the news because my family didn't know them. But It's sad, I know there was a similar story that happened in Virginia last year as well, maybe the year before.

I know this not a funny thread but  ROFLMAO, Maybe the couple are probably going through a divorce and the man is probably about to kick out of his house,which he may have worked for,abroad puts extra pressure on marriages. |

I think that a lot marriages are infact Marriages of Convenience,people get into marriages in Europe and the US because of papers,loneliness,pressure from friends and family ,financial security etc.

Nope no excuses there,just telling the reality of Nigerian marriages outside Nigeria.A lot of people don't get married because they are crazy in love but what they can get out of it.There is a lot of physical and emotional abuse in Nigerian marriages but very few people would admit it especially if they are religious. |

so you don't think many people right now in Nigeria are getting married for different reasons other than love? lol please , many are getting married because ''oh their friends are getting married'' or ''oh they've been pressured by parents who want an opportunity to show off with a BIG WEDDING'' Or '' oh the man has money'' or '' we aint getting younger'' ------
this case here OR THREAD has nothing to do with the circumstances of the marriage, its to do with one sick individual thinking he can take another's life just because he felt like PERIOD.

It may be mental disease or a person snaps due to a bad ugly experience. Whatever the reason, you never know what will lead a person to kill a close relative. But, it's still isolated incidents that happen even back home in Naija.
