What your pix says to me: You are a no-frills realist and may tend to shoot down ideas you consider ‘pie-in-the-sky’. You tend to choose just the bare goods that deliver results over pomp and pageantry that is unsure – You are bottom-line focused. You are open-minded and love to try new things and meet people. You are thrill-seeking and you are big on adventure. Although you consider yourself to be strong, you have an eye for acquaintances you perceive to be stronger than you are; you are not intimidated by them. Although you love to stand out, you prefer to follow a strong leader and share the limelight– You take the lead only when absolutely necessary. You treasure the simple things of life that most people gloss over. You are proud of your accomplishments, no matter how comparatively little. Finally, you are not a lone wolf, but thrive in a healthy team environment and a vibrant, but not necessarily large, social network.

Profile Pix: http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=41865

Pix Summary: Goofy character Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen) is on the loose in a scene from the wildly hilarious movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. He is naked, except for a sling-like underwear.

What your pix says to me: You find it almost nauseating to be in a situation that requires you to be completely out of character – You will likely kick against it because you are comfortable with whom you are. Some people are inclined to be naïve and are accepting of dogmas, with no questions asked – On the contrary, you have a probing and inquisitive mind that makes you as ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’ You are a sucker for ingenuity – That is, while others may see resourcefulness and cleverness on display and just pass by, your full attention is grabbed and you're fascinated by such traits, probably because it keeps your own creative juices flowing. You are highly hands-on and a doer with little patience for idleness. You have developed the quality of resilience and doggedness through an unusual tool – Comedy! Life is one huge comedy production loaded with ‘laugh materials’, even the unpleasant situations. You are tough-hearted on the outside, and light-hearted on the inside. You will do well to guard against what others may perceive as excessive use of fun (so as to be taken seriously when required). Finally, you are externally focused and will go great lengths to make people around you happy, because that defines your own happiness.

What your pix says to me: If your personality could be summed up in the title of a movie, it would be Will Smith’s 2006 film, In Pursuit of Happyness. Bliss and cheerfulness are central to your being – While other people acquire stuff to be happy, you are prepared to give up stuff to be happy. While some people are inclined to be self-centered and self-absorbed, you are on the opposite end of the spectrum – You tend to be altruistic and selfless. You desire to be forthright and candid in what you do and how you do it. You wish to be seen for who you truly are. You are tirelessly action-oriented and your measure yourself by the efforts invested in a task – You do not shy away from the heavy-lifting required to get things done. Because you are optimistic, you may tend to overestimate abilities (of yourself and others); a dose of objectivity will produce desired results. Finally, you are judged by others to be friendly, intelligent, accommodating and approachable – Your adept use of these traits sets you apart as a gregarious fellow with higher-than-average contacts in his social network.

Hahahaa. . . Hey jugz, thanks for your follow up questions. Here are my responses to your numbered questions:

(1) If you changed your pix, the analysis will change, but the change will be largely complimentary rather than contradictory. That is, I will get to know more about you from another avatar, not change my mind about what I already know. E.g. In a 2nd pix, I may see that you engage critical thinking to get things done, which I did not see or comment on with the existing pix.

(2) LOL! Very typical reaction from you here, signifying I inched closer to the bullseye - The assessments are solely based on the avatar. You're going to force me to share another of my 'secrets' here - I find one or two central themes in every avatar and use the "if this, then" analysis to expand the assessment. I have been honing this skill for years.

I also smell sumfin: You engage in critical thinking and it takes you a while to trust - True to your assessment, you have a keen eye for patterns which is why you're asking these questions Grin

I did go out on a limp with the body-image comment, so I swung both ways and used a tentative word 'may', because I wasn't sure. I am pretty confident about the other observations.

Hope you find this useful.

LOL! You're really interesting, jugz - Do the critical thinking wheels in your head ever stop spinning?  Cheesy

OK, here's the deal. I saw three central themes in your avatar and I will share only one on this forum for 'trade secrets' purposes - Your avatar is dripping with the colour PINK!  That ranks #2 in terms of impact on your assessment.

If you wish to know the #1 theme, send me an email and you'll have it. . .Gurl, ever thought of a career in journalism? You will prosper in anything that requires a probing mind - EFCC maybe??? Grin

Profile Pix: http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=361070

Pix Summary: A gorgeous field of sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) spread out as far as the eyes can see. <Side Note: Generally,  the faces of sunflowers are turned towards the east in the morning, and they follow the sun throughout the day from east to west.> Of the entire field, only one sunflower in focus, with three others partially sharing the spotlight; one of the three sidekicks is not completely open (lower left corner). There is no identifiable order as one looks across the field.

What your pix says to me: You are a people person, period; you love to be loved. However, your focus is on quality of people, rather than quantity. You are consciously drawn to people who add value to your life. But it’s not all about you – You also look out for opportunities to add value to others. You are pretty direct – People can sense almost immediately whether you like them or not, as you hit between the eyes. You are a student at heart who is always open to learning – Not learning for the sake of knowledge or theory, but for the sake of application, results and wisdom in what you love. For most people, their egos get in the way of improving yourself, but you seem to rise above that limitation. You have a keen eye for thoughtfulness and beauty, but you may struggle with organization yourself. Finally, the way you satisfy your curiosity is not through independent research, but by asking questions.

Generally speaking, Africans are a long way from self-initiated personal analysis; we are hardly trained to know ourselves. On the other hand, we are highly skilled experts at analysing others <look no further than the Politics thread on NL Cheesy>, but that's like being on a rocking chair - It gves you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere.

The purpose of this thread would be defeated if the assessed parties do nothing with what they accept as true in the feedback - By firing off on cylinders on the strengths and maximizing it to its full potentials, while letting the bottom fall out from the weaknesses. We all have both monsters in us - strengths and weaknesses.

Profile Pix: http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=2225

Pix Summary: NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery blasting off into the blue sky. The two detachable SRBs (Solid Rocket Boosters), which provides the Shuttle with thrust, are still attached, suggesting that the Shuttle has not fully escaped earth’s gravitational pull. Once fired off, the SRBs are almost unstoppable until they burn out and/or are detached. SRBs are highly reliable, with a failure rate of less than 1%. PS: Space Shuttle Discovery replaced Space Shuttle Challenger, which exploded after 73 seconds of lift-off, incidentally due to a leak in the SRB.

What your pix says to me: Michelangelo once said, "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." You are not one to be accused of aiming too low; you have your sight set on very high goals that some may even tag a delusion or pipedream - What you've achieved so far shows they are wrong. You view highly complex things and issues in a simple and direct manner – You may want to guard against being simplistic. You see the proper use of technology as a tool to achieve the insurmountable, solve major problems and bring a smile to a face. You have the ability to see the forest (big picture) and perceive things first in context, rather than content. While majority of the population consciously hoard information that may be useful to others, you are 'guilty' of being a Pollinator at heart - You just love to spread and share good news without expecting anything in return, even when you sacrificed dearly to obtain the information - An area of development is learning the ability to say 'No' when appropriate. You look at life in colours and seek to make good things better. Finally, you believe you cannot accomplish your dreams on your own, so you are constantly looking out for value-adding partners (not necessarily financial), dream-movers and vision-helpers – You shouldn’t find that too difficult because you do the same for the dreams of others around you.

The background is black and there is some form of calmness about the pix, probably before terror is unleashed!

What your pix says to me: You are reserved, and are not one given to being showy. You influence others through tenacity and determination, bordering on having a heart of steel in terms of your doggedness. You are contemplative and introspective. You do not like to challenge and you hate confrontation, even if you are resolutely opposed, which is key to getting along as you tend not to be disagreeable and nasty - However, this means that you tend to internalize conflict as you do not just fall in line because everyone else is doing so. Solution? Defiance (quietly doing it your way, regardless) or deflection (having someone else do the dirty job of confrontation). You may wish to guard against slipping into a state of subtle stubbornness and resentment. You keep your eyes on the ball as you are highly objective and analytical – You respond to logic rather than emotions. Though you may work well in a group, you achieve more when you go it alone. Finally, you place tremendous value on your thinking ability, and therefore evaluate others by how they use logic and facts.
