Echowords, i have a soft spot for Soul Calibur but till this day, i'm yet to find a challenger who can beat me using Nightmare

Owoayo, Mortal Kombat used to be the bomb, until they went 3d and ruined everything with insane moves. Although they've stayed true to their culture. Personally, i wouldn't get the game if i had spare change 
, and gbade.x, dude, thats quite a collection you've got there except for MK and Killer instinct. Sure, they're classics but KI went overboard with insane combos but that was the appeal in it.

i'm yet to find a challenger who can beat me using Nightmare u just havent been to the right place. we usually have tornaments at my former side surulere, u wont stand a chance. Alot of soul carlibur pros use Nightmare, so u would meet a lot of competition. |

You have a point there echowords but i honed my skills based on speed & difficult counters, i always see his moves coming 
Dude (strong_arm), Tekken isnt about the combos, you sound like one of 'em guys that focus on 10hit strings. Even those can be countered.
By the way, i use Ivy on Soul Calibur and Kazuya on Tekken

only one fighting game can generate this kind of chaos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSGW7CwD5GM&eurl=@Lush: know why i think SF2 turbo is probably is the best? you can't underestimate any character, even dhalsim? my vega (SF2 turbo) will kick your as$. i also really like the alpha series. the one on PSP kicks as$! i'm yet to play SF3: 3rd strike. seems it's only available in Japan & US for the PS2 (collectors edition - i think). the only other option i have is to find a CPS-3 board which is a hard/expensive task. |

yo @codec I hope you know Vega is a bottom-tier character in Turbo. He's great and all that, but unfortunately is fatally flawed in real tournament play. Ive seen many exceptional vega's put up a wonderful fight but at the end of the day you will be frustrated by the poor balancing. Sorry but Vega will lose against a competent shotoscrub, Gief spinner ,dhalsim pro or guile turtle
Also the fact that you said 'even dhalsim' when talking about turbo shows that you probably havent seen the pros playing that game yet. Dhalsim is a TOP-TIER character in turbo, so you shouldnt mention him and the word 'underestimate' in the same breath. In Nigeria we don't have many dhalsim players but watch oline tournaments and youi'[ll see why he is one of the top characters. I repeat though- vega is bottom tier. known fact worldwide.

Just responded to your ps3 thread. seems like ure a correct guy. I have been playing sc2 on 360 by myself for a while and could not find ONE person who plays it seriously. What you said (tournaments, etc) gives me hope! Anyway back in the day SC1 was all the rage in DreamCast houses around the ikeja/ogba area and what I can tell you is if you consider yourself a pro, drop that cheapo nightmare and use a REAL character. Like calling yourself a sf pro and then saying u only use shin akuma. Come on! small time now you go talk say your cervantes is unbeatable. Tell me your Ivy is top tier and then we can talk (after my Sophitia makes her beg for mercy)
Finally my favourite fighting series is streetfighter (of course. Old school brew For the true funk soldiers) And my top game in the series is a tie between sfa3 (which I have on psp), sfa2 and sf2 turbo

In Nigeria we don't have many dhalsim players but watch oline tournaments and youi'[ll see why he is one of the top characters where can i watch that ? i'm not really into fighting games( more of rpg, adventure and driving)but if i were to choose, i would be capcom vs snk 2.the speed and rapid motion are enough to keep anyone on their toes and the combos are awesome. i tend to favour the snk characters

@yo dakmanzero u misunderstood me, when i said even dhalsim. i was assuming Lush was less familiar to SF than most. most sf beginners think dhalsim as the weakest and i was clearing that fact. watch this video of vega vs. dhalsim on youtube. two top players sluggin it out. but then again this is me vs Lush not me vs some uber internet pro (no offence, Lush) |

ok ok, yes, guile is the ultimate, i'll probably stand no chance against a guile expert, but i'll handle your blanka. anyway, i'm past my prime now. havent played turbo in a while. tried via emulation, but the feedback i get through my current controller isn't tops. been playing RPGs instead.

@echowords Its ok for u to claim 'Guile is too slow' over here with your family, but PLEASE do not say it outside, eh? It completely destroys your credibility, honestly. No sane sf player will deny the power of Guile. Guile has consistently been the top tier player in every version of SF2, despite capcom continuously crippling and de-powering him till they finally gave in and removed him completely with SF zero. If you have any doubts about the power of Guile, search the net for the TZW videos. Did u notice how c0dec didnt bother claiming his character would beat guile? Thats the mark of someone who *knows* street fighter. Some players are top-tier, and guile and dhalsim ruled the arcades for years. I personally cannot use dhalsim, but facts are facts. @Gamine Chunners is my favourite character, but she aint top-tier. Capcom is sexist . I switch to Ryu whenever a good guile player shows up, even though Ryu isnt quite in the same league as Guile he's close enough that I can beat most Guile players in Nigeria because we don't know the true power of Guile over here! @lush You are correct. Vega is bottom tier, so even Blanka will own him. @c0dec Vega is so low in sf rankings that it is futile mastering him. Many videos exist on the 'net to prove certain things, and a vega vs dhalsim video to PROVE that vega can stand up to the dhalmaster shows how extraordinary it is that such a thing can even be concieved. Whoever was using vega is obviously by far more skilled than the dhalsim player if he can even hold his own. Sorry but capcom doesnt like vega. He has too may damage penalties, he dazes too fast, his hit windows are too short, his moves can be cancelled by mere screen scrolling, he remains in hitstun too long, he has no s.u. invincibility frames with which to reverse or wake up, his backflip is broken, his blockstun has penalties, he does damage too slowly, his comboregulation is too strict, DUDE!!!!!! VEGA SUCKS OKAY!!!!!! |

I know guile is strong, believe me i ve seen what that guy can do. what i meant is, Guiles moves depends on timing, like holding back for two secs. if u aint really skilled at using guile not just any sf player.u wouldn't get in the last secound fire ball that draws the line between victory and defeat. the guy is strong i am not saying his weak just timing.

It boils down to the user, but even you will beat Micheal schumacher on the grand prix if you'[re driving a ferrari and he's riding a BMX bicycle (with all his strength). The tool is also important.

Dude. If you believe the 2 secs charging has ANYTHING at all to do with Guile's strategy then you seriously need to find some real competition and fast. You know how it feels like the computer cheats and does not charge? REAL guile players play that way. Fear the walking sonic boom and know why Guile is king!
