LESS than one week after 58 Nigerians were deported from Dublin, Ireland, 53 others were yesterday deported to the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
he deportees were brought into Nigeria aboard an Air Europa aircraft with flight number AEA911, which arrived at 17.40.
According to an immigration source, of the 53 deported, 31 were females and 22 were males.
While 47 of the deportees ran into trouble by committing immigration offences against Spanish laws, six were deported based on criminal offences.
Though some of deportees without criminal cases were allowed to go home by immigration officials at the airport, those with criminal cases are still in custody for further interrogations.
The number of Nigerians being deported from across the globe daily has become a source of worry to immigrations officers at the airport, as over 3,000 Nigerians have been deported in the last three months.
