Man United Vs Blackburn [2- 0] On Saturday, 31st October
« on: October 30, 2009, 10:51 AM »

Manchester United welcome Blackburn Rovers to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

United have dropped points in two of the last three league games, and will be desperate to get last Sunday's Anfield defeat out of their system.
Sir Alex will have his usual team selection dilemma.  .  .of late his starting 11 always seem to struggle in some way or the other.
In attack, a pairing between Wayne Rooney Dimitar Berbatov is expected if Ferguson goes with his usual 4-4-2, which is expected. Michael Owen has been starting most of his EPL games from the bench this season.  .  .this one shouldn't be different.
Now the midfield is where Sir Alex has got his real headache. Giggs, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Valencia, Scholes are all available.  .  .Blackburn are a team that play really well against big clubs, so Sir Alex will be looking to have a lot of strength in the middle.
A midfield containing Ryan Giggs and Anderson should work, with Nani and Valencia running things on the wings.
Rio Ferdinand is rumored to be under close watch as a result of his less than satisfactory performances of recent. Remains to be seen just how displeased with his performance Sir Alex is. Johnny Evans remains available to deputize, just in case.
United will be without Ji-sung Park (knee) while Darren Fletcher has yet to play since injuring his foot on international duty with Scotland.

Rovers are trying to contain an outbreak of swine flu which has left some of their players affected.
So far, Blackburn have seemingly restricted the swine flu problem with defender Christopher Samba still struggling. But Rovers say they are monitoring the situation day-by-day. Right-back Pascal Chimbonda (calf) and midfielder Vince Grella (thigh) are also doubts.
Still, N1H1 virus or not, this game is going to happen, and Allardyce will be looking to leave Old Trafford with a win.

Let's hope they don't bring swine flu to Old Trafford.

Not a bad squad.

At first glance, Brown Evans sounded shaky but they should hold
their own against Blackburn
