@topic, like somebody said explain what Halloween means. Personally, I think Halloween is bullshit. If it's about dead people haunting the living, what's there to celebrate? Americans just celebrate stupid stuff and some of these scary things just might turn into reality.  Grin Nonsense upon ingredient!! Currently watching a scary Halloween movie jare.  Tongue

And if I may ask, what is Hallowen or whatever you call it all about? Why not celebrate what you understand than what you dont? Go ask your grands what your culture is and proudly celebrate that; halloween is not your culture.

I wont be suprise to hear a call for gay / lesbian freedom in Nigeria sooner than later.

This is the kind of post that exposes our inability to know what we need and what we don't.
Why don't they celebrate New Yam Festival as we do here or celebrate egungun?
Of all things that plagues this country it is halloween that you are advocating for.
This is not meant to be an insult but don't you think you need a shrink to define your identity for you?

Some thread if you ask me!     well i really believe our 'follow the west' mentality is beginning to affect every single part of our existence. We all know this junkyard holiday existed but we really paid little attention, but someone invited me to her 'halloween' party early in the week and i understood that the west has its claws in us. Like one of the contributors on this thread rightly said, we shall soon have a gay pride walk and y'll still be wonderin what hit you!

@ POSTER , you must be out of your mind! Something deeply rooted in celtic Pagan culture and you want us to adopt it as a national celebration?
Please fellow NLanders help me cite OUR OWN traditions for this OLODO! Happy Haloween Wink

THE QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD BE ASKING ARE:
1. Why is regular power not available?
2. Why do corrupt public officers in Nigeria refuse to resign when exposed?
3. Why are the roads in Nigeria in such a bad shape?
4. Why do we import fuel when we have crude oil?
5. Why HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

With all the kidnapping going on; who wants to go and get candy from a Nigeria woman <often assumed to be a witch> ?; mere candy will cost children their lives in Nigeria, they will be either kidnapped or juju will be placed on the candy.

Halloween is ONLY big in the U.S. and no where else. But thats because HALLOWEEN IS BIG BUSINESS.

Halloween is #1 in generating business then after this Christmas.
