@Masteruwem

Your profile does not fit a typical picture of Major depressive disorder, instead you appear a bit anxious, worried and nervous.

You really should not take any medicine without consulting a qualified MD.

What medication do you take that helps relieve your symptoms?

Do you smoke, take any drugs, or drink alcohol? Do you have any medical problems, any illness runs in your family?

What type of job do you do? Have you ever been sick, hospitalized, or operated upon?

How is your sleep, feeding, defeacation and urination?

You can email me privately at yahoo, or make plans to go see a qualified physician.

Good luck.

@naijaking1,balogun and all other docs,
 it's pheesayor again. Losing weight is not easy and I need tips and how to stop my brain from releasing hormones that act on my stomach whenever I refuse to eat early. I've been exercising but with very little result and these days I've been having migraine that has refused to after so many medication. Please advice on what next to do.
Thanks

Good job trying to loose weight, even you lost 1 pound it would go a long way in improving your overall health.

It took you many years to gain the extra pounds, so don't expect to drop them off in a matter of weeks/months.

It's gotta be a life style 'thing'

Migraines(if you're sure about the diagnosis) has a lot of causes, one of which maybe stimulants in coffee, or even some weight loose products may contain stimulants as appetite suppressor.

Also, don't forget to get enough sleep.

@naijaking1,
about the migraine, to the best of my knowledge is headache at one side of the head. In the past one week, I've been going as far from festac to ikeja, get stuck in traffic and then headache sets in. Pracetamol stopped working for me years ago. Before last week, if the headache comes, I take 'After 5' which contains acetamophin and caffeine and it goes but this past week, it only reduces the headache to the right side of my head even after repeated doses and the case is till the same till now.
About getting enough sleep, I sleep between 10 & 12 and I don't sleep beyond 7.30 am, is that enough? and when I try try sleep durring the day the average I get is 30mins to 1 hr, most times it doesnt even exceed 10 mins and I wont feel sleepy anymore even when I feel I need it, what should i do please?

Please doctors in the house I have a serious problem

I am a young virile male who has never had sex but masturbates. I was on the verge of having sex for the first time when all of a sudden I lost my erection! I was hard all along the foreplay but when it was time to slide on the condom I just softened! I was so embarassed that I hsd to cover up the incident with s story that I was respecting the girl bla bla bla (but I really wanted to get laid!)
Does this qualify as Erectile Dysfunction? Do I need to get some viagra to use? I am 30 years old! Please help! thanks !

@Dan Dare
Most likely, you don't have ED for your first encounter, so talk of viagara may be premature.

Nervousness could cause lose of erection, being your first encounter, it is even more likely that your lose of erection was secondary to nervousness, and not some intrinsic anatomical or physiological defect.

So, take your time the next time around, it may also help to talk it out with your partner.

I would not go viagra at this time, and without visiting a doctor.

Hi Doc'
My mouth have been tasteless for close to some 6months now, fell ill sometimes april and was admitted then treated for malaria.
Dont know what may be the cause, as it generally gives me a feeling of unwellness in my body. Seen a Doc and he suggested stress which i quite agree a little.
Could there be any other cause or medication to use as its getting me frustrated.
Cheers!

my brother, i no forget, job too busy. I will write you in more details later, but for migraine, I would advice that you stop caffaine, or caffeine containing foods, try to get restorative sleep as much as possible.

Work pressure, traffic hold up and family situations are the most common cause of migraine and headache. Most migraine would resolve with correction of these measures, but if it doesn't we may look for some medication.

@naijaking1, thanks a bunch. I take coca cola and pepsi a lot, can that also be a causative factor? As for the sleep I asked if 11-7 is enough or do I need more? What do u really mean as restorative sleep? Please reply

@Balogun,
Thanks for this offer to serve as our in-house doctor.I am sure many of us will gain from your experience.

My questions;
1. In which country do you practice?

2. What's your opinion about the use of Wolfe grafts for re-surfacing releases in post burns dorsal contractures of the hand,as opposed to say the groin flap,seeing that with the flap in place,post op physiotherapy will be near impossible?But with the Wolfe graft and K-wires to hold the releases at the MP joints,physio can still be done.This subject has been controversial amongst my circle of friends.I will appreciate your expert opinion.

Once again,many thanks.

It doesn't sound like you have malaria, how about flu, cold, or upper respiratory tract infection.

Moreover, the season is right for flu. I hope you got some flu shot last year, otherwise, see your MD, and if you're in naija, take some ibuprofen with food, lots of fluid, and rest.

If you don't have cough already, it would be next, you can use some expectorant like guanafessin or benelyn as needed.

If symptoms continue for over 5 days with fever then you need some antibiotic with streptococcus activity for 5-7 days.

Remember, my advice was given without doing a physical examination on you, the best advice would be to go see an an MD. Good luck.

hi docs, compliments of the season to you all.
I'll like to ask if its safe to take coke while pregnant?
I actually asked in the clinic and they said we could take anything but my craving for coke/pepsi for over a month now is alarming!
I was just wondering if its safe for the baby?

Sure you can take coke/pepsi to quench your cravings, but just remember that too much of anything tends to be bad, even you're pregnant.

I am 8 weeks  pregnant and I have  multiple intra-uternine fibroids and they are quite big. My GP said he can only 'manage' it and see how far itn would go.Does any doctor in the house know what I can do to carry it to term?Or is there an alternative medicine I can use to at least suppress the growth of the fibroid and allow the fetus to grow, they are obviously competing for space and the poor fetus, though the legal occupant, is small against the foe. Somebody should please come to my rescue. It's my first (not really, Ive lost 2 previously) and am not very young.  Thanks.

Ask your GP for a referral to an OB/Gyne with specialization in high risk pregnancy management.
