Comparing a dark black man wearing a blonde wig to a white coat really is some funny sense.

Stop being an idiot . . . there are black lawyers in the UK too.
Don't they wear the wig??

Right now, it's synonymous to the legal profession in most commonwealth countries, but u want us to change it cus u feel it's 'awful'??
Here I was thinking that the Legal System is the most conservative block of the modern society.

The UK is in Europe, Nigeria is in Africa, idiot, two different cultures. Colonisation is supposedly over, but people are still wearing blonde wigs in baking Africa. They look stupid, whether colonial or not, end of.

I think eldee has a point and so does ezeagu. Nigeria inherited its law system from the UK, and so it makes sense that we should also adopt the practices of its legal system. However, there are some that we could choose to retain or not depending on their usefulness. I cant see the usefulness of the white wig though to be sincere and in my own opinion it should be discarded.

Yeah . . . let them stop wearing wigs just because you think it's awful
Infact, the nurses should stop wearing those hats and while we're at it, we need get rid of the white jackets for doctors too.

The nurses wearing 'those hats' and the 'the white jackets for doctors' serves a function, relevant to the duties they perform. That uniform is theoretically part of their hygiene protocols to protect themselves and the patient from germs.

What i don't quite understand is the function the wigs serve and it's relevance to our legal justice system? If their only function is 'cosmetic', which it seems to my uninformed perspective, then this topic is very relevant. If it's more than to look the part, then can somebody who is 'informed' kindly enlighten those of us who are not 'learned' enough, what it's all about?
