urgent help is needed for my laptop.
1. my compaq laptop cannot see its dvd drive. ( vista OS)
i have checked the the driver software and the computer says it is running properly but i cannot see it in the my computer . if i put cd into it , the light at the driver slot glows but the cd wiil not play.
plz tell me how to repair it.

actually, it gave me two options; fix it automatically from the site or i fix it manually following their directions. i'm going for option B and i'll tell you the results after i'm done. thanks

i tried it manually using the step by step guidelines and it diddnt work.then i decided to go for the other option and fix it automatically from the site and it still diddnt work . i'm beginning to think the lens is spoilt |

Ok, what make & Model is your Computer, XP or Vista ? There's 2 more diagnostics before we can declare faulty drive Good luck and thanks for enquiring. |
