My System Refuse To Boot

Hi there Fellow Nairaland Bros, I need your help,
My Cousins Laptop has crashed, i asked him  how it happened and he doesnt knw, he said that he just switched on last week and it refuses to boot,
* Laptop Model= Dell Inspirion 1501
*Processor= Amd Sempron
*OS= Win Xp Sp3,
The Dvd/Cd Rom is not working so i cant  format the hard Disk with Xp Cd. Yesterday i removed the Hard disk from the Laptop and formtatted it Externally on another Pc and the Format Was Sucessful so i reinstalled Win Xp Sucessfully but when i inserted the Hard Disk Back in the Laptop its still refuse to boot and its shows Blue Screen error (*** Stop: 0*0000007B (0*80403ba0, 0*c0000034,
0*00000000, 0*00000000.
I have tried to Use a Usb Dvd/Cd rom Drive but the Dell Bios Screen Doesnt Recognize the Usb  Dvd/Cd Room Drive in the Boot Menu,
I dnt knw what to do next, Can u guys plz help me out, Cheers
