Fellow Nairalanders, I have a pertinent question to ask. If Nigeria wins the match against Kenya and Tunisia draws against Mozambique, it means we and Tunisia will have equal points. But based on Head to Head, Tunisia have an upper hand because they scored the vital away goal. So does that mean that we will not qualify? Or are they going to use goal difference? If that is the case, it means we will qualify. Fellow Nairalanders, what is your input on this? Please reply.

Fifa is no longer using the head to head rule.If tunisia draws (which i believe they will) and we win kenya in Nairobi then we are going to be having a superior goal difference of +1.

^^^ He (hollandis) got his facts right! If teams are tied on points then goals difference comes first. a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches; b) goal difference in all group matches;c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches. If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows: d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned; e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned; f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned; g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee. http://www.football-rankings.info/2008/09/2010-fifa-world-cup-league-format.html

I hv just read d fifa site u pasted and was amazed dat hollandis is quite right. Ths means dat we still hav chances of qualifying if we win kenya and tunisia draws, which is possible. Bt my fear is on our team if they cn b able to win kenya cos mozambique cn surprise tunisia.

Obinoscopy, hollandis & FBS are very versed in football matters. From experience i hav closely noted FBS. However, some who only knows a match is on when first half had elapsed sometimes challenge the profs ignorantly.
I respect the Elders in football matter.

@olaolufred The way u judge matters shows dat u stil think like a kid wt sick brain. I neva did wrong by asking hm to get hs facts well whch he did convincely and i agreed cos i knw dat head to head rule was applied during 2006 wc qualifying whch gave Angola an edge over us irrespective of our superior goal difference. A sycophant is always noticed weneva he talks and dis made u one cos hollandis didnt say anytin whom i directed my reply to.So be responsible wt your post lol.
