Research on Nigerian English & Questionnaires that need to be filled out
« on: December 02, 2005, 08:09 PM »

Hello!

I am a student at the University of Vienna, Austria, Europe.

A friend of mine and I are currently writing seminar papers on Nigerian English.
In order to find out what Nigerian people think about the English language and how they use it we have devised questionnaires. Now we are desperately searching for Nigerian people who would be willing to answer our questions. We have found a few people in Austria but we still need more, especially people living in Nigeria, but also Nigerians who live abroad.

In detail:
I am investigating Nigerian people's attitude towards English whereas my friend is doing research on the language use in media and everyday language.

If you would like to help us by answering our questions, please feel free to email me and we will email you the questionnaires back.

Thank you very, very much.  Smiley

@hot-angel: thanks for your advice.

I am posting both questionnaires now as that makes it easier both for you and also for us. It would be very kind, if you could answer the questions and email us the results. When you do so, please indicate whether the aswers are to questionnaire A or B. That would be very helpful for us.
If you have any further questions you would like to ask us, please feel free to email us.

Re: Research on Nigerian English & Questionnaires that need to be filled out
« #3 on: December 09, 2005, 11:12 PM »

Hello!

I thought that I'd just tell you how frustrated and sad I am.  Sad
I know I'm a stranger and asking for something but not giving anything in return.

All I can say is that I chose Nigeria on purpose - because I wanted to learn about the culture, the people and last but not least about the languages of Nigeria. I didn't realise it would be so difficult to get any results and even if I had, I still would have chosen to do my research on Nigeria. But now it is up to you to teach me something about you...

I guess this is more or less a cry for help. I really, really, really need filled in questionnaires. So, please, if you have 5 or 10mins then take a look at our questionnaires!!!! If you don't feel like doing it, then please tell your friends - maybe they're interested. Tell your colleagues, tell your family, anyone...

It would be so helpful for us! And so very kind of you!  Smiley

Thanks again!
And have a good weekend!

Greetings from a cold, snowy Austria.
