I read about 3 to 4 books at any given time. Right now, i'm very into Nigerian authors, so i'm reading Chimamanda Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun, Kaine Agary's Yellow-Yellow and Helon Habila's Waiting for an Angel. waiting on the queue are: Wole Soyinka's memoirs- You must set forth at Dawn, Buchi Emecheta's Second-class citizen and iJohn Avanzini's 30-fold, 60-fold and 100-fold Christian. And oh, how could i forget dear old Robert Greene, i've read most of his titles- Art of Seduction, 48 Laws of Power, but i look forward to reading them again. The principles therein, are even more true and potent today, than ever before.

The Varieties of Scientific Experience- Carl Sagan
The Blank Slate- Steven Pinker
East of Eden- John Steinbeck. This one still refuses to engage me. Just plodding thru. The same author wrote Grapes of Wrath, which stunned me senseless, so mebbe this'll 'hook' me later.

Why are people so into Greene's 48 Laws of Power? You won't read too far before it's obvious it'll translate you into an amoral, unscrupulously manipulative narcissist.

I am readin 'the winner' by david baldacci. In the story the protagonist is a 19 year old stuck with two jobs to support a deadbeat hubby and a baby. One day she is randomly approached by a mysterious one man army/evil genius and asked if she would like to win the lottery on one condition. She accepts and wins, Then the real story begins

Just got my hands on Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. I hope it makes another gut-churning read like his Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code.

i am reading THE LAST DUTY by ISIDORE OKPEWHO, just recently, i also read his tides. i love he style. he has a way of making his things unique, his style in 'Last duty' is especially sweet. alongside that, i'm also re-reading David wright's 'Black boy' a book i can't stop reading over and over again, and i am also reading 'burning grass' by Cyprain Ekwensi, i don't like the book though. i do mainly African literature

I absolutely loved that book! Its a christian novel, and i was sorta dubious at first (thought it was gonna be filled up with religious ish Tongue) but mehhn, i was bowled over. See angels and demons fighting mortal combat - shege!! And then that part were the girl (forgotten her name) finally gave her life to Christ . . . Cry Cry really, i was moved to tears . . . ok, nearly moved to tears. Grin But for a while after that i was a really good christian - really!

I must be getting old or sumfin, mixing up novels like this. Actually it was the sequel that i read first, Piercing the Darkness - that's one the i luved! I read This Present Darkness after that, wasn't bad shaa . . . . but i wouldn't call it scary - except for that possessed kid who keep screaming curses and generally terrorizing her mum - Amethyst or sumthing. But still i wouldn't call it scary. Say, how old where you when you read tha book tpia? Grin

I am a HUGE fan of Fantasy and always ready to sink my teeth into any new fantasy book (prefarably series) i come across. I dabble into other genres here and there but eventually, go back to good old fantasy. I read the hugely popular Twilight series a while back (before the movie was released). after that, I read My sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult (an excellent book if i can say so myself) which was released in cinemas in a few days  and i am presently reading Eldest which is the sequel to Eragon (which was made into a movie some years back) and part of the Inheritance trilogy (which i hear is now going to be 4 books). best of all, it is Fantasy. when that's done, i'll pick up Brisngr which is d third in the inheritance trilogy and since book 4 is not out yet, when i'm done with that, i'll see how it goes.

42.Wink Like you really wanna know

I read Ken Foley's Pillars of the Earth and never quite got around to checking out his other work.

Very steamy, lots of workable material and started well, I must say. But I kept losing track of the main themes due to the "heated dialogue". Though I understand why its considered a bestseller sha.

it does sound rather like what you just typed however

Then too, I like medieval historical novels.
