Snippets 110
L.F was missing on her wedding day, so Pedro began to search for her. Doubts began to be cast whether she had ran away with Carlos to avoid being married to Alfredo. Meanwhile Alfredo was lobbying a confused Mujica to give the balance or excess payment for the mortgage to his account.
Carlos, already knowing that L.F was truly the granddaughter of Don, advised her to go and see Consuelo, because she has vital information to pass unto her. L.F thought it was because of the mortgage scandal instigated by Consuelo. When L.F got there, she accused Consuelo of being the evil brain behind the plot to throw Pedro and her unto the street.
Instead of seizing the opportunity to confess to L.F that she was sorry for all her evil deeds against her and that she (L.F) was the true heiress to Don's fortune. Consuela was confident that Don would die in his comatose state, so, she lied and denied knowledge the mortgage scandal. When L.F came back she accused Carlos of sending her on a useless errand, because the woman denied everything. She angrily left for home.
When she got there, she saw that everybody was waiting for her, including Marissa. Pedro took Marissa outside where she told him the news that her divorce was almost completed, and that she would marry him immediately afterwards. The two senior lovers began to kiss in public again, this time; it was Suzanna, Pedro's 10-year secret lover who saw them, from the distance. She was heart-broken and felt betrayed by Pedro. She melted into the background so that they would not see her. She went to report the incident, with tears in her eyes, to Pancho who consoled her.
While Ordonez was chatting with Lupe on how Carlos reacted to the news that L.F was the granddaughter of Don, Reubén, the teenage boyfriend of Lupe, who impregnated her and ran away, returned. Lupe was shocked, so was Ordonez surprised. She accused him of having abandoned her for several years. She also told him that Caesar, his son, had married recently.
Carlos went back to Consuelo to accuse her of being unrepentant by refusing to tell L.F the whole truth. She begged Carlos not to tell L.F that she was the heiress to Don's fortune. After Carlos left, Consuelo called L.A and suggested to him, that they should map out plans to seek and steal the original will of Don which Ordonez had kept in the bank. L.A was not happy with the turn of events, he told Consuelo how he found Pedro and Marissa in a passionate kissing session.
Rosario came to L.F's house to warn her of the danger of going ahead with the weeding to Alfredo, when her heart is with Carlos. L.F admitted that it was true, but it was also too late to back out of her wedding to Alfredo.
Carlos could not bear it anymore, so he planned to disrupt and prevent L.F from Marrying Alfredo that day. Just before he stepped out to actualize his plans, Jennifer arrived and told him that she had gotten a good apartment for him where they would both live together after marriage.
As Xochil dressed Alfredo up in his wedding suit, for the wedding ceremony and he left his house for the church wedding, he ran into a car that hit him. He was rushed to the hospital. it was a tragic accident, there was need to perform operation on him in an emergency.
Carlos walked into the hospital to find that Alfredo was seriously wounded in a car accident, After Alfredo was examined, the doctors said he may be crippled as a result of injury which he suffered during the accident.
Meanwhile, L.F was crying in the bathroom, Pedro went to ask her why she was crying, she told him why she wouldn’t cry when she could not marry the man she truly loved, Carlos Eduardo.
Rigoberto visited Don, who was still in coma; she spoke with him as if he heard her. She told him that today was Luisito her granddaughter's wedding to Alfredo and not to Carlos. She was surprised to see Don nod, as if he could truly hear her.

Rigoberto ran to alert the doctors that Don is nodding and moving his body, and that he seems to be coming out of coma. They came to examine him and confirmed that Don has miraculously come back to life.
Alfredo did not know the extent of damage that the accident had done to him, he struggled to stand up and go to fulfill his marriage vows with L.F, but none of the muscle in his legs responded to his ambition; it has not yet dawn on him that he is crippled for now.
It was L.F they were seeking earlier in the day, now it was Alfredo's disappearance that spreads the anxiety fever for them. Where could he be on the day of his wedding? Nobody had inkling that he had an accident on his way to the church, and is now lying critically injured and paralytic in the emergency ward of an hospital, being prepared for surgery.
Nobody understood that Alfredo, just like Consuelo and Jennifer, was fighting destiny and had suffered a shipwreck, at the nick of beating destiny with a marriage that would have been a disaster if he had succeeded. On the other hand, L.F was weeping profusely because she regretted leading Alfredo on, to believe that they could be a happy couple inspite of Carlos Eduardo. Pedro was numb with words, he has no solution to the confusion which he has created and encouraged.
As Vanessa prepare to leave for L.F's wedding, she overheard Consuelo meticulously planning how she would make sure Don did not return alive to the house from the hospital.
Guadalupe and Caesar had a mini fight in her house when Caesar learnt that his father has suddenly re-appeared after 25 years absence. He demanded to know who his father was, but Lupe ordered him to leave her house, because the man he called father never had any input into his life.
As Pedro and Marissa opted to go in search of missing Alfredo, some men brought thge news of his accident to Pedro. L.A arrived at the same time to beg L.F for forgiveness. As usual, she went wild and asked him to get out of her house, but L.A told her that he had come to ask for her forgiveness for one thing. She was surprised and wondered what could have humbled this arrogant man to come to seek her leniency.
Joaquina knew the purpose of L.A's visit and she tried to obstruct him from confessing his paternity to L.F on her wedding day, so that he would not upset the ceremony. Vanessa too knew why L.A was there and she tried to break the news to L.F but her boiling anger against L.A would permit her to even listen to Vanessa's tidings. (I won't call it good tidings because, there is nothing good about the news of discovering that her unknown father of 20 years, that now appears has been her trenchant persecutor and a criminal and murderer).
Carlos opted to carry out the surgery on Alfredo. Jennifer was afraid thinking that Carlos would kill Alfredo, so that he would go back to L.F. ( To the evil person, all things are also evil). She hypocritically 'defended' Alfredo by challenging Carlos for trying to operate on his rival, but Carlos assured her that he wasn't jealous, and his greatest flair in life is to save lives and not kill.
Xochil was weeping profusely before the operation, enviously blaming Luisa Fernanda for the bad luck which she brought to bear on her 'master' on his wedding day. After the surgery, Carlos came out to inform Xochil that the operation was successful. She was happy.
Carlos tried to call L.F to break the news to her, but one of Pedro's supporters and haters of Carlos that picked the phone, hanged up on him. Pedro later broke the news of the accident to L.F. Clarita could not help but notice the affectionate attachment of Marissa to Pedro. She also noticed the tension between Lupe and her husband, Caesar, but Ordonez refuse to divulge the reason for the tension to her.
Armando told Carol that L.F was his half sister.

It was an epic confrontation between a jealous Xochil and L.F, when L.F arrived in the company of her bosom friend, Vanessa at the hospital. Xochil blamed her for bringing bad luck to Alfredo. L.F could not but notice the jealous disposition of Xochil. She lambasted Xochil for blaming her for the accident, saying it would very odd for her to wish her Groom, (the one whom she planned to spend the rest of her life with), evil on the day of their wedding.
Carlos took her to see Alfredo in his unconscious state. L.F wept profusely by his bed swearing that she would marry him, no matter what the outcome of his accident may be. Carlos swallowed his own agony, as he watched L.F swearing to go into perpetual bondage of moral indebtedness to a man she doesn't love.
Consuelo warned Heriberto that she would send Vanessa packing from the house because of her frequent fraternization with L.F. Heriberto challenged her that she dared not because that was his only child and would not allow her to be thrown out. Rigo came back home to announce to the shame of Consuelo that Don has recovered from coma and he is improving in health. She also threaten Consuelo to follow her to the hospital to come and confess her evil deeds to the old man or she (Rigo), would say the whole truth to Don at her next visit.
L.A went to Marissa's house to make a last minute appeal to her not to divorce him. Rosario could not tolerate this evil man in the house, she told him that Marissa has gone to a wedding and he could not be allowed to stay within the premises of the mansion. So, L.A went to wait at the gate, outside. When Marissa came she accused him of behaving irresponsibly by fighting and kicking Pedro out of jealousy. Marissa told him to forget about restoration as she loves Pedro dearly now. Rosario later pleaded with Marissa to reconsider the undying love between Carlos and Luisa Fernanda, by withdrawing her opposition to their love and happiness.
Jenny told Carol about the Alfredo's accident, and the possibility of being a cripple in the leg for a long time. Joaquina too told Pedro as soon as he returned that L.A came to see L.F and was on the verge of confessing to her that he was her father when she (Joaquina) interrupted and prevented it from happening. She warned Pedro to be the first to tell L.F so that she would not hear it fro L.A or anyone else who may take the credit for the revelation and L.F turning around to hate him.
Victor, a sympathiser, came to incite Xochil to fight for her love for Alfredo by standing by him throughout these trying times. Pancho alerted Pedro that Suzanna saw him Kissing Marissa and was heart broken for the betrayal.
Rigo arrived with Consuelo to visit Don and confess all her evil deeds. In the same hospital Alfredo woke up for the first time after the surgery, and demanded to speak with Dr. Carlos Eduardo.

Alfredo's recovery was quick, but was informed that he would spend a long time in a wheelchair before using his legs. He expressed his deep gratitude to Xochil for standing by him throughout his ordeal. Later, Alfredo was told that Xochil fought a verbal warfare with L.F showing that she truly loved him and was jealous of L.F. He was surprised because he never saw Xochil as anything to him other than his housemaid.
Marissa realized that Medicine was a great passion for Carlos and that she was unnecessarily forcing him to become a banker by her will. She took decision that she would assume the Presidency of the bank once again, now that she is near full recovery. Jenny warned L.A to quickly do something that would make Marissa come back to him, because Marissa had confess to her that she was deeply in love with the common gardener, Pedro.
Jenny also announced to Carlos that his mother was in love with Pedro and is planning to marry him. Carlos was shocked by the news. He went to ask Marissa and she told him that it was true. He was happy for her, at least anybody apart from that gigolo, L.A is better. He embraced her and wished her a sweet relationship with Pedro. Marissa also told him to henceforth face his passion which was medical practice, and not banking. She told him she would resume the presidency, now that she has recovered from her illness.
Meanwhile, Carlos decided to pay for the new apartment which Jenny brought to him, and began to to move into it, to live with Jenny.
Consuelo told Rigo to excuse her as she wanted to confess privately to Don. After Rigo left, she confessed only about how she bought Pedro's mortgage to punish Luicito and how she later pardoned Luicito and resold the mortgage back to Pedro. She never mentioned anything about fabricated Will, Amelia or Don's granddaughter, Luisa Fernanda. When Rigo returned and asked her if she had confessed all her evil deeds, she said yes, but was evasive about the content of her deceptive and misleading confession.
L.F entered the ward to see Don, she was so happy that Don has recovered. Don told her what Rigo told him that brought him back to life. He said he could not afford to go to the grave knowing she was committing the greatest mistake of her life, by not marrying Carlos but Alfredo. He advised her to cut off all relationship with Alfredo. He made her realize that marriage is more than pity or gratitude. None of those could compare with true love.
L.A went to the house of Pedro to threaten him. Pedro was so mad with him that a fist fight broke out between them, Pedro rained blows upon L.A. It took vigorous efforts of lawyer Daniel, Alfredo's friend, to separate the two combatants.

Surprise, surprise, Lic Ordonez declared to Lupe that he loved her, as he was consoling her after her bitter quarrel with her son, Caesar. She had told Caesar he should forget about knowing Reuben, his father because the scoundrel had abandoned her immediately after he learnt that she was pregnant for him. Caesar had bitterly demanded to know his father regardless of her bitter feelings of vengeance for the man. Ordonez had to intervene by making Lupe to realize that Caesar has a right to know his father. He also assured her that she would never be lonely again, as he would always be there standing in love by her.
Carlos began to use his head to calculate. He wanted to make a profound statement with his mom's love for Pedro. So, he requested his mom top take him to Pedro and let the man use his mouth to tell him that he loves his mom to him.
Don Fernando, after full recovery was discharged from the hospital to go home. When Carlos and Marissa arrived Pedro's house, he (Pedro) apologized for his differences with Carlos over the years and confessed that He truly loved Marissa in the presence of L.F. The two held each other and went out to celebrate their love at a nearby restaurant, leaving Carlos and L.F alone in the house. L.F confessed her worry to Carlos that L.A may be planning a jealous revenge against Pedro that was why she was skeptical if the relationship could work because of the murderous and jealous vengeance of L.A.
L.A called Consuelo to meet him urgently at an hotel downtown. When Consuelo arrived, he begged her to help him by convincing L.F to come and meet with him at the hotel for reconciliation. Consuelo agreed to run the errand on one condition, that is, L.A would never mention about inheritance to L.F, when she comes for the reconciliation. He agreed. Consuelo then put in a call through to L.F. When L.F picked it, and listened to the story of Consuelo, she was not too enthusiastic with these two cunning partners, so she turned down their invitation.
While Marissa and Pedro were enjoying their drinks at the bar, Suzanna appeared with hot jealousy written all over her face.
Alone with each other, Carlos opted to prepare dinner for L.F and Pedrito, he went to the kitchen and they had a nice memorable encounter, mixed with their undying love for each other. They sang love songs again for each other.
On the other hand Jenny and Alfredo were going through emotional turmoil. Alfredo was so depressed that L.F's purpose for marrying him had further been demoted from that of gratitude to that of pity. He knew that such a marriage would be miserable. His friend, Daniel tried to console him.
Jenny waited in vain in the new apartment for Carlos return. Sh had prepared a romantic trap for him to get her on bed and sleep with her that night. Desperately, she phoned Marissa to ask after Carlos' whereabouts. Marissa innocently told her that she and Pedro left Carlos and L.F together at Pedro's house, as at the last time she saw him. Jenny was wild with rage and jealousy that these two lovers were back in each others arms.

The invisible cupid cord that bound Carlos and Luisa is always activated anytime when they are alone with each other. From dinner to singing and before you could say: Jack Robinson! They were in each other's arms kissing passionately. L.F after some time had to break away from Carlos embrace and also accused him of kissing her. She warned him to stop it because their respective fiancees won't be happy to learn that they were together alone, kissing each other.
Pedro and Marissa got officially engaged and their romantic courtship got into full swing.
Alfredo was lonely and miserable, knowing that L.F would never love him as much as she loves Carlos Eduardo, and that her gesture of symbolic marriage vow, to him was out of pity for his miserable state.
Carlos left L.F's house and went to see that new apartment which Jenny has chosen. While examining the features, scheming Jenny tried to distract his attention from the clock, so that he would be too late to go home and therefore sleep over at the new house.
L.F too eventually reconsidered the invitation to meeting by Consuelo at the hotel's restaurant. When she got there, she was surprised to see L.A sitting at the same table with Consuelo. After she had sat down, L.A told her calmly that he was her father. She did not believe him. He told her half truths that he never knew that Amelia was pregnant by him. It was just a teenage fling. He never saw Amelia again until just before the tragic accident in which she got killed. Consuelo testified to all what L.A told her. L.F broke down in tears to know that this sneaky villain was her father.
She left them abruptly at the table for home, but she could not go home because of the heavy burden of this discovery. She went to the romantic garden which used to be the love zone between her and Carlos, to weep uncontrollably at the misfortune of having a villain like L.A, as father, and also because everybody around her knew this but they did not tell her. Her memory flashed back to when Amelia was excited to meet L.A in court, and when she became sad after her encounter with L.A because he did not recognize her (Amelia).
When Caesar saw how his mom grew hysterical anytime he asked to know his dad. He sobered up and accepted his fate. He calmed down his mom and assured her that he would never ask her to know his Dad again.
In his quest to meet his half sister, Armando implored Lucero to help him trace where she lives, so that he can go to tell her that they were the same blood from the same father.
Carlos Eduardo visited Don Fernando, and he told him that it was a tall dream to expect L.F to come back to him to marry him. Don disagreed with him, saying, like never before, he should stand up to fight for Luisito's love, for that is the only thing that can guarantee his matrimonial happiness. He urged him never to settle down with the 'witch' called Jennifer.

Luisa Fernanda rose up in rebellion against Joaquina and Pedro, for deceiving her over the years about the identity of her true father, which they hid from her. She accused and lambasted both of them for toying with her life with deceit. Pedro wept by admitting his fault for hiding the truth of her paternity from her for so long, and asked for her forgiveness, so was Sister Joaquina.
He told L.F how L.A and Amelia began and how he rejected Amelia after knowing that he had impregnated her. With the coast over her paternity cleared, she stood up firmly and declared that she would never accept L.A as her father, and would always consider Pedro as her rteal father.
Selfish Pedro went to Carlos to seek his acceptance for his intention to marry his mom, Marissa. Carlos had a good heart, forgiving and and not retaliatory, he listened to and accepted Pedro into the family.
When the divorce was concluded, L.A threw another stone of confusion into the arena, claiming he would not willingly sign the divorce papers because he had caught his wife, 'adulterous' wife Marissa, cheating on him with another man called Pedro.
Consuela's room of maneuver is rapidly shrinking with the daily truth being revealed. She confirmed to Rigo that L.A had confessed to L.F that he was her father.
Armando came to seek the help of Vanessa to connect him with his half sister; L.F. Vanessa organized a meeting between the two.
L.F went to visit Alfredo, and he was angry and jealous that she had not come to see him for quite some time now. He asked her if it was Carlos that was responsible. She denied it and told him that she had been battling to reject her biological father who had been pursuing her for many days, begging to be accepted as her father.
Alfredo nodded and mentioned Luis Alejandro's name. L.F was shocked that even the psychiatrist Alfredo too knew her paternity secrets and hid it from her. He apologized to her for being silent on that. She was angry with him and told him that he cannot be trusted and what he did is unpardonable!

The twists and turns of this telenovela never cease to amaze us. L.F has begun to avoid wedding or marriage discussions with Alfredo. After Alfredo sought and got her forgiveness for hiding the truth of her paternity from her, he asked her if she would still stand by her vows to marry him. She dodged the question, and pretending a continual flow over the paternity issues, by telling Alfredo that she would not recognize L.A as her father, but would continue to adore Pedro as her real father. Alfredo noted her evasion but kept quiet over it.
Marissa got really into troubled waters when L.A refused to sign the divorce papers. She later went to confront L.A over his allegations of adultery. She too accused him of fathering another daughter by another woman outside of their matrimony, (based on the latest info that Carlos fed her with). It was a drama of accusation and counter-accusation between the two. After Marissa left, Carlos called his Mr. Fix It, Solozarno to get and pay false witnesses who would testify in court, that Marissa had long been cheating on him with Pedro for several years before now, and that she was an adulterer.
Carlos later informed Marissa that Pedro had come to formally seek him permission to marry her and he had given him the green light. Carlos has also tactically backed out of moving in with Jenny, because he seem to be more confident that L.F would play ball very soon. Jenny was devastated by this latest rejection, she went to her sister, Carol, for counsel. Carol advised her to follow her to consult with a witch doctor on how to catch Carlos.
When Jenny got to the witch doctor, during consultation, the witch doctor told her that Carlos would never be her husband and he has been destined to marry another woman. Jenny was angry with the prediction of the witch, but that one assured her that it has been written from heaven as part of Carlos Eduardo's Destiny and nobody can change it.
Don Fernando, now sober and sane, suddenly discovers that his will did not reflect his desires. He thought L.A did not capture his desire well. He did not know that it was the fabricated will which Consuelo made him to sign in the days of his amnesia. Since he saw his signature on it, he thought L.A was the one who did not capture his desires well on the Will. So, he decided to write another will, He told Marissa's lawyer Mujica to write him a new will that would absolutely capture his desires.
Ordonez was in the company of Lupe, they were gisting about how L.A intended to crookedly corner Marissa with false case of adultery. Caesar stumbled on them in relaxed and affectionate posture. Ordonez siezed the opportunity to announce to Caesar that he was in love with Lupe, and would want his endorsement. He gave them express acceptance and even told Ordonez that he has confidence in him, that his mom would be well cared for in their marriage.
Lucero took Armando to L.F's house but they did not meet her at home. L.F had gone to visit Carlos in the hospital. She told him her encounter with L.A and Consuelo who confirmed to her that L.A was father. Carlos warned her not to believe those two crooks, that they might be setting a trap for her. L.F re-assured him that that their claim was true, because Pedro and Joaquina confirmed it. She warned him not to tell Marissa, because it would affect her emotionally. He agreed with her. It was so touching, they embraced each other, again and again, they were naturally relaxed in each other's company. So, they went to the restaurant to eat.
Xochil was monitoringthem and saw how radiant and happy L.F was, in the company of Carlos at the restaurant. Xochil went to tell Alfredo that L.F was deceiving him, because she saw her in a happy mood with Carlos eating at the restaurant. Alfredo told her that he was not surprised, because, when he put the question of marriage to L.F, she was evasive and avoided to answer him.
L.F and C.E later went to her house to see their son, Pedrito. Carlos renewed his desire to buy a new house for his son, L.F was happy and accepted his offer. Jenny who also has been monitoring their movements knocked and entered L.F's house to surprise them.
Consuelo told her husband that L.A has announced to L.A that he was her father. Heriberto was uncomfortable because the noose is getting tighter, and he told her that their manipulative days are numbered.
After Caesar left, as Ordonez and Lupe were about to seal their relationship with a kiss, Reuben, Caesar's father, knocked and entered the house.

Reuben had come to protest to Lupe for allowing his son to be doing menial jobs like driver and gardener for Marissa. Ordonez used the opportunity to tell him that he and Lupe would be going to the altar to sign the dotted lines soon. He also advised Reuben in strong terms to stop stirring up trouble between Lupe and her son. Before Reuben left, he begged Lupe to let Caesar come to see him, that he would give him a more dignified job with better income and prospects.
Marissa was sad because L.A refused to sign the divorce papers. She informed Pedro of possible delay to their marriage plans. She told him how L.A planned to stir up an adultery scandal in the press, in order to smear her reputation, and cause the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Bank, to remove her as the president. She told him that L.A is prepared to fight dirty, because he was jealous of Pedro.
Jenny, having heard Carlos plan to buy a new house for Pedrito, mocked him by proposing that he should divide his newest property into 4 and give Pedrito one portion, because he would not be the only child, as she would give him 3 children too, after marriage. She told Carlos to quickly come and impregnate her so that, she too can give him a son to play with, and would not have to be running after Pedrito again. She said all this just to taunt L.F, and true to her expectation, L.F was angry and insolent, she was not happy with Jenny's interruption of their get-together.
L.A came to visit L.F again to ask for her forgiveness. She sharply interjected that she had grown up knowing only one father, and that father is Pedro. saying, she has nothing to do with him, even though she has forgiven him.
Dr. Serrano counseled Carlos to recommend for Alfredo to travel to La Paz for physiotherapy treatment for his palsied limbs, because that is what he would need for the next few months for proper rehabilitation of the use of his limbs. After the message was passed to Alfredo, he looked Carlos in the eyes and asked him if he had been spending nights together with his fiancee because he heard reports that they were eating around restaurants together. Carlos smiled and told him not to break his head about L.F, since what he (Alfredo), wanted from her is marriage, Carlos assured him that L.F would keep her vows to him and marry him. He however assured him that, it would not stop L.F loving him (Carlos). Alfredo was jealous.
Foundation for another tragedy was being laid as L.F foolishly embraced and accepted Armando as her half brother when Vanessa brought him and introduced him to her. She was troubled in the spirit by this mysterious association, but kept an outward fraternal friendliness with this strange half brother, which was nothing but a criminal accomplice of a criminal father. [If L.F rejected L.A, her father, why must she embrace Armando, L.A's criminal accomplice, it is a recipe for another disaster].
Marissa accused Jenny of withholding information from her about L.A's second child and daughter. She told her that she knew because Carol told both Carlos and her together at the same time.
Heriberto slumped at the Iron and Steel factory and was rushed to the hospital. Consuela finally accepted to follow the advice of Heriberto by going to L.F's house to inform her that she was her Aunt. The game is up!

L.A meant business; he has embarked on an orchestrated smear campaign of blackmail and calumny against Marissa. When Pedro came to beg him to desist, he told him that he won't stop until Marissa is completely disgraced publicly or Pedro drops his ambition to marry her. Pedro was so soft; he doesn't want any harm to come to Marissa, so he broke off his relationship with her because of L.A's blackmail.
Just as Consuelo opened her mouth to reveal the blood ties between L.F and her, an emergency call interrupted her, telling her that her husband had slumped and has been rushed to the hospital. Immediately she and L.F rushed to the hospital to see Heriberto. They met Don there. Don invited L.F to a chat and over a cup of coffee, he strongly insisted that she must not marry Alfredo but tie the nuptial knots with Carlos.
After Carlos had examined and revived Heriberto, he found that he had brain tumor and may not live longer.
Caesar considered the offer of a better and dignified job by his Dad.

It was the season of blackmails, as L.A attacked Marissa at a press conference, where he questioned her moral standing as an 'adulterer' to lead a bank, so was Alfredo also blackmailing L.F that she must compulsorily escort him to La Paz, for the physio-therapeutic rehabilitation of his limbs. L.F was initially reluctant to follow him, but he compromised her by demanding of her to stand by her vows to stay by him through thick and thin. Alfredo was mortally afraid that before he comes back from La Paz in few months time, Carlos may have hijacked and marry L.F.
The evil workers began to change and switch sides as the shifting sands of their hope began to sink. Carolina advised her boyfriend, Armando to get closer to L.F and be friendlier with her. She told him to do this discretely without the knowledge of Jennifer who hates L.F. [This is the same girl who taunted and mocked L.F as a poor gardener's daughter in the past].
Carlos noticed that Don has a partially paralyzed hand too, and he recommended for him to travel to La Paz for physio too. The old man agreed and told him to go ahead with the arrangements. L.F came to announce to Carlos that she had to escort Alfredo to La Paz for his medical treatment there. Carlos was saddened, much as he tried, he could not stop L.F from following her fiance to La Paz.
Consuelo swung ferociously against Virginia, her husband's mistress and secretary when she came to visit Heriberto at the hospital. She really embarrased her. it was time to pay back, since Roberto was in no condition to defend her now.
Rigoberto suspected that Consuelo had not fully confessed to Don, because, Don has not begun to see L.F as Amelia's daughter or his granddaughter. So, she called L.F aside, to tell her the missing gaps, just as she was about to open her mouth, to reveal her relationship to Don, via Amelia, Vanessa arrived at the hospital, and interrupted them. She asked if it was true that her dad was on admission. Consuelo took over by telling her that her dad her brain cancer and would soon die as revealed by the doctors. When Vanessa asked that Consuelo arrange for her father to be treated abroad, her plead fell on deaf ears.
Heriberto called and begged Don Fernando to take good care of his daughter. This was the last wish of a dying man. It was so emotional and pitiful
Ordonez advised Marissa not to swallow L.A's bait by personalizing her response to L.A's public attack. He told her that The bank and Board of directors would defend her legally and publicly against L.A.

Carlos Eduardo, Mujica and other lawyers sought ways to deflate L.A's balloon of blackmail by suggestive moves to get Andreina to testify against him over his attempted murder of Marissa Gomez. Carlos also suggested that the buried case of attempted homicide, when L.A pointed a gun at him should be unearthed.
Xochil indicted Alfredo for lowering his self-esteem by begging and blackmailing L.F to escort him to La Paz.
When Armando questioned the dirty method of blackmail that his father, L.A was using in order to make Marissa come back to him, L.A told Armando that he is as much his accomplice in the crime. He turned around to blackmail his son too, instructing him that he should help him to persuade L.F to accept him as her father, otherwise, he would sink Armando.
Carlos reassured Vanessa that he would save her father's life. Consuelo's anxiety heightened and worsened when Heriberto was speaking with Don, she thought that Heriberto would expose all their joint evil deed to Don.
Consuelo was not comfortable with Vanessa staying over the night by Heriberto's bedside. She was afraid that he may reveal all of their joint evil deals to her, so she urged Vanessa to go home to sleep, while she (Consuelo) would stay with him all night. Later in the night, Heriberto pleaded with Consuelo to take good care of his daughter for him, if he dies. She promised and assured him that she would take care of her like as if she were her own daughter.
Joaquina announced that the Convent had transferred her to Africa for missionary work there.

Lawyer Mujica completed the new Will of Don Fernando and passed it to him. Consuelo took a mental note of where the old man kept the Will. Reuben became jealous of Ordonez, he told Lupe that he wanted her to remarry him. Lupe said NO.
Vanessa came to the hospital the next day to warn her father to tell Don Fernando the whole truth about Amelia and her daughter, so that Consuelo would not twist the story in his absence.
L.A has become the whipping boy of the Pedro and Carlos. When they read all the fabrications of L.A in the newspapers about Marissa being a cheat and adulterer. They went wild and went to meet L.A at his hotel, Pedro beat him into a pulp. L.A instructed Solozarno to shoot and kill Pedro in retaliation for the beating he received from him. Carlos blocked and and prevented Solozarno from fulfilling L.A's wishes.
The press coverage of the adultery scandal was sensational, as became the hottest gist in town. When Armando and Carol told Jenny about it, she was happy and made a mockery of the disgrace of her "confidant and friend"- Marissa Gomez. For her, it was another indirect blow against Luisa Fernanda- her obsession. Journalists and T.V presenters invited Marissa to grant interviews to defend herself or clear the air over the allegations of adultery by L.A, she refused to grant any interview to any media.
L.F began to search for Pedro, and was told that Pedro had gone to fight L.A in his hotel, so, she ran there and found her father and Carlos in a brawl with L.A and Solozarno. L.A began to curse and denigrate Pedro and Carlos. L.F could not stand the two people in her life whom she loved to be so insulted, she marched on L.A and, GBHOA!!! heavy slaps rained down on L.A from Luisa Fernanda, his biological daughter. She told him how shameless and ungrateful he was, for treating the man (Pedro), that raised her up for twenty years, went he abandoned Amelia, with disdain.
The adultery scandal began to take its toll, the judge over the case of Salvador changed his mind when reading of how Pedro and Marissa were irresponsible adulterers, as alleged by L.A in all the newspapers.
Leopoldo negotiated with Mujica that he would testify of all the evils L.A did against Marissa in exchange for his freedom and pardon on the other case attempted murder of L.A. Mujica passed this information to Ordonez and also the fact that he has passed the new Will to Don.
Consuelo stole the newest Will of Don Fernando, and went to hide it in Heriberto's drawer in the factory. Virginia saw her and challenged her on what she was doing there, Consuelo sent her out of the office. Don Fernando appointed Consuelo as the acting President of the Iron and Steel company, in the absence of Heriberto. When Don came to tell Heriberto in the hospital, that he has appointed Consuelo as the new President of the Steel company, he was alarmed, knowing the danger that his wife represent to the old man's fortune, he began immediately to confess to Don Fernando that Don has a granddaughter whom he knows and is alive, his health grew worse, his voice grew faint,
Caesar told Clarita that he wanted a career switch from driver to a better job, as suggested by his run-away father, Reuben. Clarita accused him of disloyalty and that he wanted to jump ship because of the current travail they were going through.

Seeing his receding strength, doctors rushed Heriberto for the first X-Ray session, so he was unable to complete his confession to Don Fernando. But what Heriberto said was enough to stir up the curiousity of Don. So, he went to challenge "Concealer" Consuela, (as one of our revered 'gardeners' from Kano, Nigeria, would call her), what the matter was, as per his granddaughter.
Jennifer de la Mocker, came visiting Marissa to show hypocritical solidarity with her. She even suggested that Marissa should agreed to organise a counter-press conference to expose L.a too. Marissa foolishly agreed, thinking, her 'friend' was helping her.
Heriberto agreed to the surgery to remove the cancerous tumor from his brain. He died during the surgical operation led by Carlos.
Pedro reported back to Marissa on how he beat L.A to a pulp when he read in the papers how L.A discredited her. Marissa felt bad by the scuffle and also reminded him that he had terminated their relationship because of the negative publicity, why was he still fighting on her behalf.
L.F came to tell Alfredo that she was not going to follow him to La Paz. Alfredo countered by accusing her of breaking her vows to always stand by him, the way he stood by her when she was in jail. Xochil went to one corner to weep because, Alfredo did not show any affection to the lavish expression of her love for him, but was rather begging and running after L.F that didn't love him.
Consuelo told L.A that she had stolen the new Will of Don, prepared by Mujica. L.A asked her to show it to him, so he can study it.

Being, the first time that a patient would die in his hands during surgical operation, Carlos felt very bad and even took responsibility for his death. Vanessa a double orphan became most vulnerable, for the first time in her life. Consuelo pretentiously slumped to the ground upon learning of Heriberto's death. Don Fernando handled the coordination of the burial ceremony for Heriberto. The weakest of all the schemers in this telenovela dies, 3 more to go, they are chronic evil agents and hardened wicked souls. You know them, don't you?
Upon learning that Leopoldo would testified against him for exchange for his pardon and freedom. L.A was paranoid, he signalled that his hatchet man, Solozarno should swing into action with PLAN "B" to make sure Leopoldo dies before arriving at the witness box.
Alfredo threatened Dr. Serrano that he would rather remain a cripple and refuse to go for physio treatment in La Paz, if his fiancee refuse to follow and be with him there for the duration of his stay in La Paz.
Jennifer de la Mocker was mocked too. She went to the hospital to alert Carlos by lying that that his mother has organized a press conference, (of which Jenny herself was architect and master planner), to counter L.A. When she arrived, Consuelo told her that Carlos is mourning and grieving in his office because of the loss of Heriberto and that L.F was in the office with him, consoling him. She went into a rage at the mention of Luisa Fernanda's name. She stormed Carlos' office and was astonished to see both of them (L.F and C.E), in an emotionally charged kissing session. She screamed and shouted her frustration at the two, insulting L.F, calling her unprintable names. Carlos stopped her in her tracks, warning her never to insult L.F again.
It was Heriberto's funeral and all present were truly mournful, the only secretly happy person was Consuelo, whose vile secret were carried to the beyond by Heriberto. Jenny arrived at the burial in the company of Carlos, she secretly went to where L.F was standing, without being seen by anybody, she landed Luisa Fernanda a big whopping slap on the face, saying that was for kissing her fiance.
Leopoldo witheld his testimony against L.A against L.A because he had not been pardoned or free as he proposed to Mujica

After the hot slap in the face, L.F decided to abandon further struggles with her arc rival, Jenny, for the love of Carlos Eduardo. When later Carlos came to visit her, she told him how Jennifer de la fighter humiliated her with a slap during Heriberto's funeral. She told him never to come around looking for her any more because she doesn't want further trouble with his pugilist fiancee.
After Heriberto's funeral, Don went to ask Consuelo to explain the details of the confession of Heriberto to him about his dead daughter and his living granddaughter. Consuelo masterly hid under tearful streams of pain, and pretended to be too consumed by the loss of her husband to answer the query of Don. But the old man would not rest; He went to Rigo to ask the same question.
L.A received court summons to appear and defend himself against the allegation of attempted murder of Marissa.
Dr. Serrano told Alfredo how it is impossible for him to force his fiancee to escort him to La Paz. Desperate Alfredo sent for Pedro and arm-twisted him to compel his daughter to escort him to La Paz for the duration of his stay there. Pedro, true to type, mandated and morally cornered L.F, to agreeing to escort Alfredo to La Paz. Case closed! Courrrrrttttttt!!!!
Marissa seems to have woken up from the threshold of Jenny's deception. She invited only one journalist into her office and garnted an exclusive interview of her own version of L.A's ridiculous allegations. When Jenny returned to the Press center, the gamut of eager journalists whom she had invited for her 'show of shame' almost tore her to pieces demanding from her to produce Marissa, as she had promised them, when she was inviting them for the press conference. Marissa turned down all her pleadings to show up at the press conference. Jenny had to profusely apologize to all the press corps, for her inability to produce Marissa for the press conference. She was thoroughly embarrassed.
The parents of Salvador finally agreed to voluntarily give him away in adoption to Pedro and the judge had no option than to ratify their decision.
Ordonez and Lupe publicly announced their forthcoming wedding ceremony.

Carlos was furious to learn that Jenny slapped L.F, he went to scold and tongue-lashed her for her gutter behavior. Jenny was depressed by this obvious partisanship of Carlos. She concluded that the two lovers were getting back together in reconciliation. She admitted her loss in the battle for Carlos' love. She decided to commit suicide and swallowed all the pills from a bottle of sleeping pills and fell into the bath tub.
Alfredo had a running battle with L.F before he could finally convince her to escort him to La Paz for the trip. He apologized to her for forcing her against her will to escort him on the trip.
Leopoldo appeared in court, after being thoroughly beaten by two thugs hired by Solozarno to kill him. He gave useful evidence against L.A.
Pedro threw a small party to celebrate the victory over the legal adoption of Salvador and also to welcome him officially into his family as a new member.
Vanessa came to her father's office to pack his things; She tried unsuccessfully to break open the metal box where Heriberto keeps vital documents. She suspects that Don's Will may be hidden there. One of the factory workers came to report to Consuelo that Vanessa was trying to break the safe. Consuelo made up her mind there and then, to get rid of Vanessa, who symbolized the new threat to her evil hegemony. She could not help but noticed how Don Fernando pampered Vanessa throughout the burial ceremony of Heriberto. She dreaded a scenario, where Don may decide to transfer his fortune to Vanessa in the absence of his real granddaughter.
Rigo escorted Don to the hospital for medical checkup. The doctor recommended and referred Don to La Paz, for physio treatment of Don's trembling hand. Consuelo refused to heed Rigo's warning to confess to Don, she held on to the last straw of evil hope that Don could drop dead any moment from now, particularly now, that she has assumed the presidency of the Iron and Steel company.

A dying Jennifer de la Suicide, was discovered in the bathroom by Carol and rushed to the emergency ward of Carlos' hospital where her bowel was flushed of all pills she had swallowed. After her recovery and stability, later in the evening, Carlos asked her why she choose a senseless option of ending her life. She fired back that only over her dead body would he marry Luisa Fernanda. This suicide attempt which became a big press issue as the media published it made Carlos to blame himself for putting two women who loved him dearly into so much torment.
Consuelo was happy with the proposed trip to La Paz by Don for physio treatment, she agreed and encouraged Don to go. The old man initially did not want to travel out to La Paz, but Consuelo had to use all the tricks in her evil bag to make him agree. She had many evil schemes that would have to materialize fruitfully, only with the absence of Don from the scene.
Alfredo has suddenly realize his maniacal obsession with L.F escorting him for medical treatment in La Paz. He regretted his manipulative pressure that made her agree to escort him. as soon as the news of Jenny's suicide got to Alfredo, he jumped into wild conclusions that it must have been as a result of C.E and L.F having fully reconciled. He became agitated and wanted to go and visit Jennifer at the hospital
Vanessa advised L.F not to miss her opportunity of happiness by resigning from fighting for her love for Carlos Eduardo. She advised her not to go ahead with her plans to marry Alfredo.
L.A, once again unleashed a media war on Marissa and Carlos over the attempted suicide of Jenny. He told the press that they were a family that injure and maim their loved ones, but turn around to accuse others of attempted murder.

Rosario had to deploy her motherly wisdom to get Carlos out of self-depression and self-guilt. She told him to reject being victim of Jenny's suicidal madness. Carlos recovered and rose up to address Jennifer, telling her that her case needs urgent psychiatric intervention, just like Pedro when he attempted suicide some 3 years ago.
Carol also advised her to look for another man who would love her, because her happiness is not tied and cannot be tied to a man who does not love her. When Armando broke the news of Jenny's suicidal attempt to L.F, this good-natured girl visited, to sympathize with her at the hospital. But the predictable results are, insults and abuses rained on her by a supposedly recuperating Jenny.
Alfredo requested Xochil to carry him to Jenny's ward. On getting there, Jenny accused him of letting loose his fiancee to resume intimate relationship with Carlos Eduardo. She told him the details of how she caught both of them is passionate kissing session in Carlos office. Alfredo went straight to L.F's house to challenge her on the illicit affair, she re-ignited with Carlos. She denied the allegation, perhaps to avoid another possible suicide by Alfredo on her neck.
As L.A appeared in court again, the judge decided that there were few evidences to prove beyond reasonable doubt that L.A actually wanted to kill Marissa. The case was dismissed without cost. Immediately Ordonez applied to subpoena Andreina as witness for a fresh case against L.A. The L.A camp burst into joyful celebration and L.A began to plan Kill Andreina, if she should return to Mexico to testify against him.
Carlos Eduardo re-assured L.F that she should give him time to let Jenny be discharged from the hospital before he breaks his engagement with her. He also told her to do same at the same time with respect to Alfredo, so both of them can go ahead and marry

Good news! Clarita is pregnant, but also had appendicitis. Consuelo shoved Vanessa out of the house, as soon as Don travelled to La Paz with Rigo. Vanessa had suspected that Consuelo urged Don to travel out, so that she could open the safe of Heriberto in his absence. Vanessa summoned courage to ask her for the keys to her father's safe.
That was what filled Vanessa's cup. Consuelo told her the history of how her father was nobody but a common factory worker promoted to vice president of the company. She told her that her father was Mr. "Nobody" who came with nothing, and so, had nothing to claim as his belongings. She asked her to pack her luggage and disappear from her father's property.
L.F confessed to Carlos how she lacked the moral courage to tell Alfredo the she could no longer marry him. She wept because of the moral burden. Alfredo on the other hand went to tell Pedro that his daughter has been going behind his back to renew romance with Carlos. He bitterly expressed his fear that L.F was looking for excuse to back out of the La Paz trip and break her engagement with him. Pedro calmed him down, assuring him that he would not support any move by his daughter to renew romance with Carlos.
While on hospital bed, Jennifer discharged herself against Carlos medical advise, because, she just won another big modelling contract with another advertising agency.
Xochil was afraid that L.F may cause a last minute upset for Alfredo, so, she insisted on accompanying Alfredo to La Paz. Alfredo agreed with her.
Carlos Eduardo too became wiser, and decided to shift the emotional battle field to La Paz. He advised his mom to get out of negative publicity and get well, by going to La Paz for physio treatment too, so that she would no longer be limping while walking. He assured her that she would have good company there because Don Fernando is already therer receiving treatment too.

After much pleading by Vanessa that fell on Consuelo's deaf ears, she packed and went to live with L.F. It was a classic case of "use and dump", Consuela used her to put L.F in jail, now she duped and dumped her unto the streets. Life's irony now played itself out, as L.F rescued Vanessa, her former persecutor and bosom friend, to put a roof over her head when Consuelo dumped her.
Vanessa's fiance was very angry to discover the intrigue of Consuela against her. Sop, he went to the iron and steel company to confront and insult Consuelo for maltreating his wife-to-be, in the absence pf Don and after the death of her father, Heriberto.
Alfredo, L.F and Xochil proceeded to La Paz. Carlos too packed his luggage and went with his mom to La Paz, Then , the encounter! L.F was pleasantly surprised to see Carlos at the port; Alfredo was enraged to see him there. He must have nick-named Carlos as a 'stubborn pursuer', LOL.
Carlos explained to L.F that he had brought his mom for physio-therapeutic treatment for her legs. He also told her he came to make sure that Alfredo does not persecute her or force her against her will to do whatever she does not like to do.
Marissa realized too late that her trip to La Paz was an emotional coup de tat by Carlos against his arc-rival, Alfredo. When she saw L.F, she knew that trouble was being brewed for fermentation like alcohol, by her son. Pedro, after some few days also, headed for La Paz, to surprise his wife-to-be with solidarity.
Rubén, Lupe's run-away husband, stumbled on his teenage friend, Luis Alejandro Montero, and was happy to rescue him from his travails with Marissa, by appointing him as the new legal Adviser to his company. Birds of the smae feather floc together. L.A impregnated Amelia and absconded, Rubén also impregnated Lupe and took flight, 2 decades later, both now desperately want to identify what with what they had ran from, Rubén wanted to re-marry Lupe, and seeking to know and father his fatherless son, Caesar; L.A wanted to be a late-hour or, is it late-comer father to L.F, and of course partakes in her inheritance from her grandfather, life is an irony.
