Mixed Sex Hostels In Nigerian Higher Institutions: How Practicable?

I read one story online of how some colleges and universities abroad now make provision for male and female students to stay in the same dorm - on different floors, on the same floor, sharing common facilities (toilet), separated by a door or even sharing the same room.  I couldn't help wondering how that would work in Nigeria.  What do u think?
