I just confirmed it, Mukina.

Cameroun lost 2 - 3 to Zambia. The result means they are the second team to be eliminated from the championship.

The group is still open to Zambia also. For Nigeria to qualify, they need a win or a draw.

Update on the Championship:

Gambia makes it 3 wins out of 3 today by beating Cote d'Ivoire 1 - 0 to top group A. Congo also won their last group match against Burkina Faso by the same scoreline.

Group B is still open to all except Cameroun, who face Nigeria tomorrow.

It's half-time, Nigeria is trailing by 2 goals to nil in the last group match while in the other match, which is being played concurrently, Zambia is leading Egypt by the same scoreline.

I'm praying Nigeria do not qualify for the semis backing in if they lose this match.  We don't deserve a semi final berth if we lose this match.

The men boys played as if they were instructed not to win, even the coach didn't in anyway look bothered with the defeat.  I hope they do better against Gambia in the semis.

Gambia, Congo, Zambia and Nigeria have all qualified for Canada 2007. We can only hope they make us proud.

Papa Flying eagles play young scorpions at 2pm in the first semi-final of the AYC.  We will be playing without our first choice goalkeeper, Thomas Olufemi and our top scorer Zenke due to injury.  Do these guys have what it takes to overcome Gambia, who are yet to concede a goal?

We don't have a Team in this current AYC because we don't have a coach, but with determination from the couple of players we have in the squad, i believe we will beat Gambia today,

@PDF  are doing a great job

I doubt if Muki will answer that yet because her team is a man down and trailing 1-0 in the first half.

Edited: Zenke played in the match though unimpressively.

Host Congo will play Nigeria in the Final of the AYC.

Congo beat Zambia 1 - 0 in the other semi-final match played today.

It is the opinion of most people that the better teams (Gambia and Zambia) lost in the semis. At least they have a chance to prove that at Canada.

@Muki and Lalaboi, stop spamming the thread Angry

please those under 40 grandpas of Flying eagles should cover their heads in shame. The last time Nigeria put up dissapointing display was against Argentina in 2002. Nigeria shoulda lost 20 - 3. Luck was just so harsh on the Gambia.

I hope Naija are not planning to field this team at the world cup, NONE of them will make it to the super eagles in 20 years. What a shame. They can't pass the ball, they can't hold the ball, can't control, above all, can't even score. They do not even deserve to be in the final, a team like this will go down against an Argentina team of only 3 players without a keeper (Messi, Tevez and Mascherano, 60 - 0)

Bunch of Crap Players painting the name of the Nation Black. They should go back to selling pepper and groundnuts. Na today I believe say Jazz dey work. Angry
