Learning Excel Macros

Hi all,
I've been in the IT biz for a while now, but i've never had much interest in programming (except if u can call PHP a programming lanuage!). My job requires the use of Excel a lot, and i see guys doing some nice stuff with macros.
so, what do i need to learn to be able to churn out complex excel macros? anyone have an idea?
