Is America Ripe For A Female Or A Black President? ?
« on: January 22, 2007, 05:33 PM »

As the saying goes "If America sneezes every other Country catches cold" .  Recently
Hillary Clinton has finally announced that she is considering running for president in 2008 - a declaration anticipated for the past six years that puts a heavyweight contender into the race.
Another contender for the most powerful position in the world is Senator Barack Obama.
Barack Obama's mother was from Kansas and his father was from Kenya - leading observers to suggest he is an African and an American, but not an African-American.
The real issue is who can lead a country fighting on two fronts, protect our economy and borders and still manage to keep a few friends?
Whats you opinion? Is America ripe for a female or a Black President?

From the look of things, I'll say America is ready for none. If the Democratic Party produces any of the two, they will loose woefully. Clinton has a better chance to clinch the democratic primary ticket than Obama does. I know Obara is very popular now n all, but that's American politics. Howard Dean was more popular than Barack, look how he ended. The reason why Clinton will loose against the Republican party is simply because of the South. It'll be tough to sell a liberal democrat, because that's what she is to those people and as we all know, they call shots in American politics now, because they can all be swing states in the upcoming election.

You can refer to me as being gullible, because I believed Hilary Clinton's emphatic denials when asked if she was keen on seeking the presidency some years back. Later on, I just thought those fielding her with these questions were just mischief makers, so, I was surprised when I read that she was interested in becoming the next president. After all those denials, amidst counter claims from pundits that she was going to run. Even though I am a democrat, if the Good Lord keeps me alive next year, I am not voting for Hillary Clinton. Maybe I will just stay away from the polls, but you never know?
