Female Virginity (vs. Male Virginity)
« on: December 09, 2005, 11:29 PM »

I  just read most of the posts on here and I just had a few things to say:

1. I've wondered about the double standard that says men can do what they want and women can't. I don't have a problem with double standards at all because the two sexes are different. To say that there shoudln't be double standards between men and women is like asking what can physically get you to work better, a car or a calculator. That we keep cars in garages and calculators in desks is not strange at all. Hopefully, everyone would agree that men and women are built differently, hopefully in every way. Nature has placed a heavy burden on women that says "you can't have muscles and do a lot of work because it will interfere with your ability to have children". Female Gymnasts, Bodybuilders, Slaves in the past all are less able to have children. Thats why nature took the muscles off you and put them on us(Cause at least back in the day, we needed muscles for farming, hunting, building and all that).  Many men don't understand how precious this makes a woman cause they are tripping off their own muscles. But these differences lead to an outgrowth of all manner of mental and psychological differences as well... So I can understand why a man might be more likely to have lots of sex. Besides, genrally, there are more single mothers than single fathers. I'm not saying this is the way it shoudl be, I'm saying that this is the way it is, this is the way it ends up. Women have to be more careful about their encounters, because chances are they will be making the heavier parental investment. so I can understand why a woman might have evolved to be more chaste, and arroused less quickly.

BUT!!!!!!!!

2. To everyone trying to say that theres no difference in a person before and after they lose their virginity, why do you say that? Of course there is! After, a person has experience. for both men and women they become a little more serious, a little less nonsense. Women lose shyness, and men lose caring. not totally, but its there.

I do want my girl to be a virgin. There's something about a non virgin, even if she was married before, that is just not as clean as a virgin. I keep thinking in the back of my mind, this girl is not a virgin. she has had sex with another man. she has ties to that man. I'm less special to her because of that. If the woman does not have ties to the men she has slept with then I don't want to be with her either cause why should I be any different?

I don't know how to explain what it is about sex that makes higher and higher levels of monogamy seem cleaner. The history of a person follows them. 'Use'  and 'experience' are terms that can be applied psychologically as well! just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it is not there. Psychological changes happen to a person when they have sex. and ties linger. Take a cassette tape for instance. once you record something there, you can record over it, but the new recording may not be quite as good quaity cause you are not writing on a clean surface. with enough technology, an expert might even be able to uncover the first recording!! Sometimes I do  worry about being with one woman all my life, whether that will be boring, whether I will be missing out. Cause the LAST THING I WANT is a boring relationship, or one with no life. I want to have the best sex in the world!!!!!!!! I'll go celibate first. Oh no. And I want my girl to be beautiful, too.

So the numbers don't add up: For me to sleep with a woman, either: I'm taking her precious virginity away, or I'm sleeping with a woman who has ties to another man.

That leaves only serious relationships. hence the higher and higher levels of monogamy.

Let me ask this also of the women on this site, and be honest.  Would you want a virgin man? I've only seen two responses on that subject. And I'm curious, cause I get mixed reports.

It is not clear what question you are asking, what your point is exactly, and how that relates to the topic you have chosen.  IT is also not clear why you decided not to post in the other threads concerning virginity that you referred to.

Interesting thread.

I don't agree with the double standard. The reasons being that I believe it was set up to put women at a disdvantage. Let me explain what I mean:

In the past, Nigerians will raise hell when they discover that a woman is not a virgin. But if the same thing is discovered about the man, they will excuse it (he's just being a man, etc, ). When you encourage this types of behavior, it is no surprise that when women get married, they'll get cheated on, mistreated, or worse, and the community will engourage them to endure it for the sake of their children and family.

In my opinion, the reason behind discouraging women to have sex has less to do with whether or not we are created differently, because I doubt most people in the past thought of it like that. But rather, it is the fear that if the woman gets use to having sex on a regular basis before getting married, she is more likely cheat on her husband (or try to "sample" other men) when they get married or if she feels unhappy in her marriage. The funny thing is, this is exactly what happens to the males in our society, at least in the past.

I would say more Nigerian women are smarter at discovering people who are likely to take advantage of them once they get married. For example:

---A man who puts great scrutiny on their partner's sexual history, but do not do the same thing to their own---This type of people want someone who will forgive when they stray and just move on like nothing happened

---A man who 90% of his reason to marry you is because of your vagina---(without considering your personality, intellegence, etc, ) unless he, too, is a virgin

These people are suspect and because many Nigerian women have chosen to ignore it, they have fallen victim to, what I think, is one of the worst cultural practices Nigeria ever accumulated. Furthermore, these cultural practices have ignored a critical component of the woman---her emotion. The woman doesn't like being cheated on any more than a man does. And while it might hurt his ego to discover his wife running around, it also leaves emotional scars for the woman when she discovers his husband breaking a committment he made to her, and going somewhere else to satisfy his urges. I say this because I saw the effect of this in my neighbor when I was still in Lagos.

A culture that places so much on sex and the determination of an individual's worth by how much sex she has will eventually result in frustration. Unless they call up mother nature to stop women from getting horny,    Smiley Smiley
I think it has done little for the family structure except force people to grin like everythings great and keep their skeletons in the closet.

Personally, I don't see the big deal in whether or not you remain a virgin. And I don't judge anyone based on that, cause being a virgin doesn't stop you from being an hateful individual. I'D say that's more important cause you can only tolerate hateful people and people with bad personalities for so long,

Just my two kobo.

conleymon

isnt it obvious u re a teenager, who thinks more with
his groin than with his head, I'm sorry 4 being impolite
but i can't be more angry than the female folks.

Are you a chauvenist?

how long  do u think a virgin wife remains a virgin in your household after
honeymoon?
the chaste associated with virgins in the days of our fathers is simply because there were less challenges then than now, or do u think that these so called non virgins didnt have a good reason for being so?

Remember the story of the temptation of jesus after he left the wilderness, in their
own days, the devil knowing he is jesus to tell him to jump from the mountain is a temptation right?, I'm asking u?
if u were in jesus's shoes, will u fall for it? i tell u i will slap the living day out of his eyez, is not even worthy to be a temptation, but i tell u it was story enough to land in the bible but in our own dayz, is a cock and bull story,

so, u will sacrifice ur happiness for a woman's  sexcapades?
you will sacrifice a unique understanding u have with a lady for her sexcapades?
in that case u will prefer a nagging virgin,
a cleptomaniac virgin,
a low life virgin,
an uneducated virgin,
a bastard virgin
well, sorry for you,
the choice that u make determines to a great extent ur happiness
Good luck in your quest for virginity, FREAK
you will record more missionary journies than st paul
