Do Actors Really Have Sex In Movies?

Good question!!!!

There are really three forms of sex in films (of course not porn films)

1) Where there is real sex. What the producers do is to put only parts of the sex in the whole film so that it can get a good rating. The films that sell the most in Hollywood are rated 13-16 so that most of the public can watch. If you put full nudity or sex, it will be rated 17 or higher.In fact in most films what is shown at the Cinema which is where Hollywoods films  first get shown is usually less in rating than what comes out in the DVD version, so you usally hear of uncut version.
There is full sex in  almost every film where you see them seeming to have sex. Examples are Jason's lyrics, Stallon and Sharon Stone in Specialist and almost if not all Sharons films,name the film-almost all have sex. What you get to see is just 30 seconds -2 minutes of sex that may have taken place several times.

2) Films where there is actual sex, but instead of the actors you think are having sex, doubles are used.
In Jason's lyrics,  (1994) in the first of the 2 sex scences where Allen Payne kisses Jada Pinkett Smith , the part where the breats of  Jada Pinkett Smith are shown, it is not really Jada Pinkett Smith but a double. Why a double was used in that part, I don't know, maybe she didnt want to show her breasts.
Also where you have the people meant to have sex not liking themselves in real life.
In Nigeria, in the film the Prostitute, in the scene where there is sex (probably the only sex scene ever in Nollywood) it was not Omotola that had sex, but another person who was recruited for that scene. Thats why you don't see her face, only the breasts and parts of the body.

3) Films where no sex takes place, but the viewer is made to believe there is sex.
Example: In Ghost  (1990) Patrick Swayze's  wife did not allow him to have sex with Demi Moore. In the film we see them almost naked on the bed and you think they have sex, but they don't.

ThiefofHearts, I have worked with the industry. The sex is real.I know is looks amazing that people would strip naked and have sex infront of other people but thats why people like Sharon Stone earn a minimum of $10 million for a film. And the vast majority of the top actors and actresses start off doing porn.
Its not in every film that you have sex of course.
Read the post on Jason's lyrics  or Monsters Ball at wikipedia to confirm the sex in the film or  try and get the never released uncut version of Monsters Ball and you will see the hot sex in that film with little or no difference from a full blown porn.

*SMH* My guy, you must have been working in adult entertainment if you saw real sex on a set, especially if you're using Jason's Lyric and Monster's Ball as examples. There are many more realistic simulations than those two examples.

On the other hand, there are a couple of European and indie movies that include real stuff. There's a French movie called "Romance" by Catherine Breillat that's as real as it gets. She's well known for doing that in other movies too. And there are some recent American movies that use the same tactic ("Brown Bunny" being a good example), but it's definitely not the mainstream.

i think you guys should give it a second thought.some movies feature real sex not porn of course.have anyone seen MONEY TRAIN??its an old film BUT you need to check out what WESLEY SNIPES did to JENNIFER LOPEZ.Also sharon stone normally act films with real sex thats why she gets paid well.you need to check out some of this films by SHARON STONE(SILVER,BASIC INSTINCT 1 & 2,THE SPECIALIST,THE QUICK AND THE DEAD)

As for Sharon Stone, there was no actual sex involved.  The scenes were hot and steamy, but sorry, no actual sex.

As for Chloe, I guess that is why she got dropped, especially if the rating for the movie was anything below NC-17.

Regardless, there may be no sex during the movie but I bet there are a few "extra scenes" that are played out in the trailer in b/w shoots

aww that takes me back, i remember telling my younger brother(he was only about 8yrs then) that wwf was all acting , for pure entertainment. He was angry then he was so upset with me. He didnt want to believe it.Bless him

I am so suprised that 7 years into the 21st century and over a hundred years of moving pictures,such things can still be doubted.

In the Specialist, both Stallone and Sharon were naked in the shower for over 30 minutes (though on screen its 2 minutes) and you still doubt they had sex.

Have you never watched Sharon Stone also in Sliver? Are you telling me that when she rode Alec Baldwin, that was stimulation?

What of Body of Evidence ? Were those 5 scences stimulation?

When the producers don't want to show or have sex, they don't-they don't have to pretend.

In Nowhere to Run (1993) , Van Damme and Rosanna Arquette,  did not have sex, he played with her breasts, they kissed-but they did not have sex.

Whats so great about sex these days, that it would have to be faked.You see the actors naked, so why would sex be so different.

No, my friend--we are not doubting that those scenes were stimulating. There's a difference between stimulation and simulation, though.  Each of those scenes didn't involve penetration, because they would never get past the censors in most countries. What would be the point? If you have truly spent time on movie sets (I mean mainstream ones o--I no sabi Nollywood style!), you'd see that half the time actors are wearing flesh-colored underwear/bodysuits in many of these scenes.


I think you are, as someone here likes to say, confuzzled. Sharon Stone uncrossing her legs and the camera getting a glimpse of her without underwear is real. That's not in doubt. Sharon Stone having actual sex on camera in Basic Instinct is not real. Didn't happen. As Debosky says, the directors would be flattered by your posts.

Of course penetration wont be shown, if it were the rating would do harm to the films Box Office returns.

If you see penetration in a film, then its clearly porn. What is put in the films are cuts from the full scenes.

That is why movies are called ''make believe''. They are supposed to depict realities of life in order for the movie to look and feel real. The actors are very professional.

If you take a look at some late night DSTV movies that are rated 18, you'll see that the sex sequences are faulty. In A- List movies of Hollywood ratings, make it look real, but believe me, they aren't doing anything. Jennifer Aniston said that about 20 pillows were between her and her co-star in their love scenein The Good Girl.

@ Babzo, Body of Evidence wasn't real. Same with Casino Royale, Underworld 2 (was absolutely fake) and so many other films.Look, do an experiment. Get your girlfriend and fool around. Pretend you're having sex when you're both naked and besidesthe camera will never show their privates because its not porn. (How hard can that be???)

Other movies like Original Sin, Kama Sutra, e.t.c. are not REAL. Even where movies are shot by couples like Eyes Wide Shut and others, , since they are couples, they can smooch and smooch but i tell you, there's no penetration involved. See Black Dahlia by Scarlett Johansson ( who confessed that penetration didn't occur) and Josh Hartnett.

In majority of the movies, there is no penetration.  However, in recent times, we've seen supposedly mainstream movies featuring real sex/ penetration.  These include:

Romance
Intimacy
ShortBus
9 Songs
Baise Moi

Monster's Ball is really controversial.  I've watched the sex scene over and over again.  The sex scene is like no other.  I believe that Halle screwed Bob Thorton for real but they agreed with the director that they'll never disclose it.  That's my opinion sha.  The sex in Basic Instinct 1 does not look real to me but I wonder why so many actors ran away from the lead male role in Basic Instint 2.

You just want to believe it's real, that's all, because it makes it more 'exciting' for you. But it's not. No more than murders in films are real (but don't they look real? yes!).
