South Africa: First African Country to Support Gay Marriage
« on: December 11, 2005, 08:01 PM »

I couldn't believe it myself when I heard the news, but it is not news any longer as it has been put into practise by the South Africans.  Doesn't it look absurd for a country like South Africa [to legalize gay marriages?].  I guess this continent is turning into something else.

This is very good news. Regardless of all the bad fortune that's befalling on South Africa. It remeains a beacon of hope for an enlightened world.

why are you suprised? those south africans are just black only in their skins, their thinking has been corrupted by their white lords. imagine a black south african anglican bishop saying he never saw anything bad in the episcopal church in the us appointing a gay as a bishop Angry Angry

I think it's great news! If you're not gay, it doesn't affect you so you don't need to worry yourself with it!!!

Unless you're gay, the new civil unions bill should not matter and will not affect you. In South Africa we don't discriminate against anyone, it's written in the Constitution.

Thank you!  Since Nigeria has no credible constitution it abides by, you can understand why this is an emotional crisis for most!  Always drinking Panadol for other people's migraine! Like gay people are not human beings that should have rights! Yet polygamous christains have rights!

Not that there aren't any people who are dead set against same-sex unions but most people don't care. Even some people within government are against gay unions but they don't voice this out because it would go against the Constitution.
