refuge homes is located at 66 opebi street , ikeja , lagos

the 2-bed is for 950,000 naira while the 1-bed is for 750,000

your initial deposit is one-third of the value and pay up period is about 24 months.

you will also need to make a payment of 2,200naira (application fee) and 70,000 naira as land fee.

that all

i am already into it and so are quite a number of people

@HIs, i stay abroad, thats why i can't visit. I found www.refugehomes.com but the site is not really fully functional, it doesnt have any info about the said propterites as well.

I guess i will have to ring them up or something.

Coz, if Mowe is 25 minutes away from Ojota, then the 2 bedroom is definitely ool for 950K.

Isn't that too small to raise a family in? Apart from the two bedrooms, are there rooms for sitting and dining?

@ seun, you might be right if you are planning on having loads of kids, lol.

Personally, i want it as a buy to let property. No more no less, or probably get my siblings to live in it and work there,

I tried their number so many times in the klast i hour and its just saying not available.

@HIS, since i couldnt get through, maybe you could tell me:
 what are the criterias,conditions?,
do you need to have a good credit rating?,

Do you need to show proof of work?

Do we have to provide bank statments?

Also, considering the 1/3 deposit, together with all other fees, on the 2 bedroom bungalow, what will be the total cost of initial deposit+Land+App fees+Rate+other miscellaneouses.

Do give more gist man, at least for us that can't visit Nigeria straightaway.
I might come over if i get much info about it to strike a deal.

gbengaijot
you can only have 1-bed or 2-bed room built there (according to specification, terms & conditions)

you don't need a credit rating or bank statement.
they only need a proof that you can up.

NB; IF YOU A FAIL TO PAY UP I GUESS THERE WOULD BE PENALTIES SINCE YOU WOULD HAVE DEPOSITED SOME AMOUNT ( ONE -THITD OF THE VALUE).

I AM PRESENTLY ON VAC IN LONDON, ELSE WOULD HAVE VISITEDTHE PLACE TO GET YOU THERE PHONENO.

IF YOU CANNOT GET THRO BY 20TH FEB,(I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN LAGOS, I WOULD VISIT THEM AND HAVE THEIR PHONE NO POSTED HERE)

Thanks man,

So you mean, i don't need any documents to do that?,

How do you show that you can actually pay up?,

By showing pay slips or what?,

And like i said, what is the total cost of the initial deposoti+land fees+ application fees. e.t.c

Re: One/ Two Bedroom Bungalow On Sale In Mowe (ogun State)
« #13 on: January 29, 2007, 01:59 PM »

total cost

application form 2,000 + 200 (commission)

land fees  70,000

deposit
If 1-bedroom  250,000 (one-third of 750,000)
if  2-bedroom  about 317,000 ( one-third of 950, 000)

so for 1-bedroom
2,000+200+70,000+250,000 = 322,200 naira

for 2-bedroom
2,000+200+70,000+317,000 = 389,200 naira

@loverbwoy, from what he is saying, it seems the house are newly built.

If they are 25 minutes from Ojota, then i might as well buy a 2 bedroom , but it depends on how long they are going to be available for.

Yeah, still waiting for answers to loverbwoy questions as well.

Sorry I don’t know much about refuge homes but I can tell you a little about Mowe. Our family bought hectares and hectares of land in this area in 1985 for N20,000 per plot. We thought the area had potential due to the rumour at the time that the Spare parts market would be moved here, which never happened in the end.

, 13 years later and the area is exactly how is was all these years back. It’s Funny,  I was just discussing this with my partner this morning how it is very strange that Mowe never really quite moved as quickly as other "new" areas did bearing in mind If I left Mowe at the same time as someone in Ikeja left home I would get to Lagos island much quicker. Mowe to Lagos island via the 3rd mainland bridge can be achieved in 40 minutes on a good day.

Be warned that in the rainy season some parts of Mowe are totally cut off and you cannot get your car though. House building will also come to a “holiday” as tipper lorries cannot carry sand/gravel etc due to the waterlogged roads.

Anyway I disposed of my plots last year (2007) at N600,000 per plot and put the money on another project.

, P.S by the way land costs the following in Ibadan

5.5m for 2 plots in Oluyole estate
800K for 1 plot at Akobo
3.5 M for 2 plots at Adeoyo hospital road
.

I am not from Ogun State O!! & my town's oba will complain if I don't build in my town first  Wink

, Just joking.

On a serious note the land was purchased with a view to build a conference centre/holiday chalets but that was abandoned due to several reasons.

I still believe that there is a lot of potential in the area and i wouldn't rule it out completely and if anyone has a few spare bucks i would advise them to  purchase a plot of two if only for investment purposes.
