They love their Hockey like Nigerians love their Soccer/football, and their accents sound like a mixture between that of us Northern Yanks and that of the British, with a bunch of ey's thrown in at the end of nearly every sentence. Other than that, there aint much more to the nation, worth mentioning, other than in the winter... its coooold!! DAMN COLD!!!  Undecided

@ocho,

Canada is liberal in the sense that they made gay marriage  legal and made it illegal for churches to teach from the Bible  about homosexuality.

Compared to Nigeria and Jamaica they seem to have  the opposite opinion  of homosexuality.  It is interesting when you think that a pastors can be arrested for preaching from the Bible.  I guess freedom of religion is not important in Canada.

I would like to see some proof for the statement that it's illegal to preach from the Bible in Canada. This is highly unlikely and probably a misrepresentation of the facts in the same manner that it is illegal to pray in schools in the US.
Some Christians are really suffering from a persecution complex. Not being able to proselitise freely against people's wishes is very different from being persecuted.

@nferyn,
Canadian Court Rules Bible Verses Against Homosexuality Are ‘Hate’ Speech
Summary: A judge in Saskatchewan has ruled that a man who placed Bible verses about homosexuality in a newspaper ad was guilty of inciting hatred.

In a ruling that has received little media coverage, a judge on the Court of Queen’s Bench in Saskatchewan, Canada has ruled that a man who put Bible verses about homosexuality in a newspaper ad was guilty of inciting hatred against homosexuals.

The December 11, 2002 decision was in a response to an appeal by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission over an ad that Hugh Owens placed in a Canadian newspaper. Owens was ordered to pay $1,500 to three homosexuals over the ad.

According to LifeSiteNews, churches are not only admonished against recommending certain candidates or political parties, but they also face crackdowns for speaking out on issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage.

LifeSiteNews is and outpost of the North American Christian Right, not exactly a neutral news source.

That's exactly what I've done. I looked up your source and found it very biased. I would be very surprised if it were factually correct.
Going to a source such as LifeSiteNews for information on church-state separation is like going to the Ku-Klux-Klan for information on race relations.

@nferyn, I am trying to hold back from going Ghetto on your SORRY ASS!  If I was not A Christian I would!!!!

I am a Christian first and a  black woman and I am proud to be one. I agree with the news as it was reported by LifeSiteNews.

 I know your  your statement was meant  be offensive!

 I understand that as a liberal /atheist you believe you are superior to Christians!!!!  But That is your problem and I refuse to make it mine.  It is your life and your eternity !

Take your fight up to God because he  created the rules in the Bible that Christians follow. Obviously you are offended by God!

Be man enough to do that.  I am so through with your sorry self!!!!!!!!!

I'm affraid that the fact that you are a Christian is causing your anger. Why do you have to be offended by people that have different beliefs?

It's not about whether or not you believe in it, it's about whether or not it is factual and correct

It wasn't meant to be offensive at all. I was just using an analogy to make things clear, but as it offended you, I appologise for offending your sensibilities

I don't believe anybody to be superior to anybody else, but I guess that feeling is not reciprocal. I have had to good fortune of not groing up in a theist environment and not being implanted unsupported ideas in my head at childhood. I feel sorry for those that did have to go through that

Why on earth do you need to insult me? I have not insulted you.
I am as offended by God as I am offended by Santa Clause: not at all. Something imaginary cannot offend me

For being in such a cold region, it's odd how TO has such a large Caribbean population. I can always remember seeing lots of Jamaicans, and other West Indians nearly everywhere.
