If nigeria breaks up eventually which region will suffer the most? Me i think if nigeria breaks up eventually those in the south would suffer the most (East, south, west) not as in financial suffering but political suffering. i believe the northerners would settle fast because of their nature. and a lot of support from the Arab world we in the south we will still be battling who will rule us. we have more corrupt leaders in the south than in the north. what do u guys think?

This topic has been beaten to death already. If Nigeria breaks up, the entire West African region will suffer.

debateable fact:
People in the Niger Delta will suffer most.
USA wont be able to keep their hands off them and they will eventually make an Iraq of the situation.
even without external factors Niger Delta will suffer because the ijaws will fight the ogoni or the itshekiri will fight urhobo. (I hope I got my spellings right)
Or the president of the newly formed Niger Delta will either do the Odili style or Alams style

I always wonder, who will get the right of ownership to the name Nigeria, if Nigeria broke up.
Maybe it will be like North and South Korea. Everybody keeps the name but just adds where they are located.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world. I want you to do some analytical thinking Any region that lacks a cohesive centre force will fall. I looked at the whole region called Nigeria and I think anarchy will be loosed upon the Niger Delta in the event of a breakup. **It doesn't matter if it is a peaceful breakup or not.**I think every part of the country will be affected but the region that will suffer the most would be the Niger Delta. The story might be different in the next 10yrs if things change. Nigerians, trust me, you are better united. Europe is uniting, USA is united. The only thing you need to do is to strengthen the power of the various states in the country. I believe the framework is there already. Each state has its own house of rep, I think. Some states adopted the sharia law so I believe you already have the blueprints to boost the power a state can exercise

Which ever part of Nigeria has the most beneficial resources will suffer because somone is most likely going to take for granted that Nigeria is falling and they will pretend as if they want to help the part of Nigeria that has the most resources. Most likely it will be America who comes pretending like they want to help out. Let's not forget, that America is the evil twin of evil Europe.
