It’s the dawn of Monday, As the dawn’s lone trumpeter sounds To remind us of our obligation And aspiration to eat our cake While we still have it.
Our shadow is growing darker And the skin is weeping for The bodies that are digging for gold Where u can only get oil. The die is cast, we’re on chance And we may get a bonus for our hard work
The twilight zone has been reached When we are taller than the next best us It’s time for curtain call, we take a bow And head to our sweetest place, Where loneliness is replaced by company We’ve been longing for
Twink of an eye, the trumpeter Wakes us again to ask the question What do we gain, when we can lose it all In a flash, when summer can suddenly turn to winter The land where tomorrow never dies Lies the answer.
