« on: February 15, 2007, 11:48 AM »

Let's create an informal computer village price guide by listing the price of items we bought there recently!

Here's mine:
- 4 pin to 4 pin USB cable - 2500 naira
- Optical mouse with USB/PS2 ports - 700 naira at Chuks-pee.

Before, I post in Price list, I have to say that i have twice being duped in That so called Village, i went there to buy a  second hand K700i Phone, the guy collected the money i.e (N12,000) then later said he wasnt selling agine, he hurriely returned my money and ran away, i noticed that the money was short N2000 after i counted it, while i was going home, another guy called me to buy his K700i phone, the guy showed me the good one, so after i paid, he changed it to one without my notice, so in the bus, i decided to play with the phone then i noticed that it had no service. Good God, i felt like burninmg the whole village.
Infact to hell with the price list of a thing.

why would you buy a second hand phone from computer village? do you know the history of the phone? even after being duped once, why couldn't you be more alert.

I bought
1) 3.5mm Hi-quality Sony Walkman earphones - N1500
2) Sony Playstation 3 - N80000

I agree with you Muyibaba that one need to patronise those that have shops/outlets.
I was about to be duped last Friday when I went to Computer Village to buy Memory Card to my Camera, the guy gave me fake one, before I left I told him that if it doesn't work that I will have to return it, the guy agreed and i left, just to try it and found that it was fake and could not work with my camera.  Meanwhile, the owner of the outlet gave me his phone number in case I want to buy any more goods, because of that I mimmediately called him and told him that the memory card was not working, he agreed again that I should come back and change it to good one. So I went back, but luck ran out of him because I know their techniques, he asked me to come along with my camera, which I did, but i told him that i can't allow him to go anywhere with it, when he found out that their was no way he could cheat me, he decide to give me the original, which I took back home.

So, by patronising those with shops/outlets one will be confident that whatever he purchase will have a guarantee unlike others that can run away with your money.

Though computer village is a hell for JJC in town, u have to be alert like u'r driving a manual car.
A couple of mths ago, A pin broke in my phone in the process of removing the charger while i went there for a repair, i took it to one of them of which he admitted he can fix it.
before he started, i told him "Dont open if it can not be fix"But he ignored.  lateral he said he can not repair it anymore after he had opened my phone and started demanding for N2000.00 before he could close it.
Thank God i'm use with the system, one thing leads to the other, then he cls my phone with a good supervision from me
there's a lots of sh*t there, beware!
Though my phone is cool now.  Cool

It means a used one, or one from a laptop that isn't in use anymore. If you know the price of a brand new dell inspiron 6000 motherboard, please post it.

I need it badly for my laptop.

I wish i could tell you exactly where i bought it from, but i can't be precise. I know it's on Otigba street and there's a shopping complex near a bank (not bank PHB). this place has loads of gadget selling shops and they sell 'em at suspiciously cheap (or at least not so high) prices. I got the earphones from there. also they've got

1) 30GB ipod video - N43000
2) Xbox 360 - N45000 (i believe it can be haggled down to 40k)
3) loads of pocket pcs, pdas, memory cards, psps, portable dvd players, laptops etc.

if i can find the receipt, i'll let u know for sure
