Computer Village (Ikeja) Price Guide
« #160 on: May 20, 2008, 01:51 PM »

Angry:my regards to 'samy-young' sorry about your experiences in the 'village'.
let me however add some tips other than just a price list:
  • Never buy from other than a shop
  • if buying CDs, be sure to get the contact of the person you bought from. Just in case you want to return them.
  • Establish a relationship with whoever you are buying from, u can't say what you may gain from whoever later in life.
  • if possible, go with a friend, its always good to have a witness when money changes hands.
  • request your receipts, i heard something on the radio about stamping the receipts, i can't say how well it is practised, but request the receipt at least
  • make sure you have discussed whatever it is you want to buy with a good number of people before going
  • BE ON THE LOOKOUT!it is afterall, LAGOS!!! Wink

now a small price list
  • CDs, any software: @most ₦150 per CD
  • tv PCMCIA Card for Laptops (Vista Compatible): @most ₦6000

i swear i feel that guy die! it happened to me too, but the phone i wanted to buy was a Sony Erickson w550i. the guy gave me the phone in a handkerchief, he said he did not want people to notice that he was selling the phone because he will have to give them their own cut from the money. In summary he gave me a dead alcatel phone. Once beaten twice shy. I went there in about a month later and some one else tried to pull the same scam but i paid him half of the money and went home with a new brand Sony Erickson p990i!!! how cool is that! My friend buy a new one, these motherboard do not have servisable parts, so if the came off a PC chances are they aint working again, bu a use bundle thats working, ie one with CPU,Fan,heat sink Ram ,because this things I mentioned are high personalised to individual mother board.
