Fill the 5 litre gallon to the brim with water Pour 3 litres of that into the 3 litre gallon (that is, pour it till it's full) Empty the 3 litre gallon. Pour the 2 litres from the 5 litre gallon into the 3 litre gallon Fill the 5 litre gallon to the brim Pour water from the 5 litre gallon into the 3 litre one holding 2 litres, till it's full (1 litre) Congratulations, you now hav 4 litres in the 5 litre gallon!

There is also another way: Fill up the 3 litre gallon, and pour it into the 5 litre gallon Then fill up the 3 litre again and pour till the 5 litre is full At this time u have 1 litre water left in the 3 litre gallon.Good Throw away the 5 litre water away and pour the 1 litre into the five Finally u fill up the 3 litre gallon and and pour into the 5 litre gallon. Congratulations u have 4 litre.

cool thread. Here's another one! You have to cross a river in a little boat, taking only 1 item at a time. You have a lion a goat and a piece of yam. The lion will eat the goat if left alone with it. Same fate for the yam if left with the goat. Goodluck !! ( PS someone already suggested a nice meal of p.yam and 'isi ewu' would solve the problem )

And I suppose the lion doesn't eat human beings if left alone with them? Or the goat eat your boat?
