Nollywood Is Coming To Bonny Island In March
« on: February 20, 2007, 09:24 AM »

Nollywood is coming to Bonny Island and that is a fact.

I am going to lay the foundation for the development of an extension of the the third largest film industry in the world next month on Bonny Island, Rivers State Nigeria, with the beginning of TV/Film production training for as many people as are willing to learn the basic rudiments of TV/Film production.

I am starting the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) Training Workshops on Bonny Island and give the people of the Niger Delta region the life time opportunities to participate in the billion dollar business of Nollywood on the most exotic locations of natural beauty in Nigeria.

If you are on Bonny Island or Port Harcourt and you are serious to be trained professionally in TV/Film production, then you are welcome to contact me for registration.

The first workshop is for only the first 30 people to register.
Training will start in March, 2007.

The tutors and facilitators are among the best and most successful TV/Film producers, directors and actors in Nigeria such as Tunde Kelani, Faruk Lasaki, Zeb Ejiro and others.

The first workshop will focus on Acting, Scriptwriting and Production.

About ITPAN:

ITPAN is the only Nigerian TV/Film Training Centre recognised and accredited internationally and over 1000 practitioners from TV stations, production companies, advertising agencies all over Nigeria have benefited from this program. And many of those trained at ITPAN have received grants for the production of their movies. ITPAN also sponsors the production of movies. Tunde Kelani and others have received financial sponsorships from ITPAN to make their movies.

ITPAN hosts the annual Lagos International Film Forum where renowned international and Nigerian filmmakers, professionals and policy makers in government convene "to identify exceptional feature film projects from West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa (outside of South Africa) and help them to be packaged to pitch at the Feature Film Co-Production Forum (FFCF) at Sithengi, South Africa, with the potential of pitching at the co-production market, Cinemart, at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in the Netherlands in 2007. In order to counter the declining number of African feature films being produced, this process will hopefully bring more ideas through an African pipeline to a global marketplace for financing and development."
