An Escape From Death
« on: February 26, 2007, 01:00 PM »

I don’t even know where to start. I have to share this story, which in reality is a testimony of the greatness and good ness of God in my life. He has just proven his omniscienet and omnipresent features. If you don’t comment or congratulate me, at least just help me give glory to God most high.
I left for my office 8.00am this morning without any premonition that death was lurking behind me, waiting for the best moment to strike. But when the bible says he will give His angels charge over you………, it was’nt just a statement.
On getting to the office I realized my A/c was not working well and I was not ready to spend the day sweating so I called a technician to come over and fix the problem. He is a winner just like myself and we infact attend the same Winners chapel. He got to my office, checked the A/c and decduced we had to transfer it to his workshop. I looked for the driver but was told he went on an errand so I decided to drive the car with the technician to the workshop.
Fellow nairalanders……if I say this is a resurrected man writing, please believe and if you don’t believe in miracles, please change your mind. Those of you in Nigeria that are familiar with the north and especially the notorious Abuja-Keffi-Jos expressway will understand me very well enough. You know how traffic is dangerously high on that express since it’s the major road linking most parts of the east and North with the FCT. To make it worse, this express is a single lane with the Federal Govt. still harnessing plans to make it double. You can count heavy duty vehicles-trailers, oil tankers and the likes at a ratio of 10 in a minute. It’s that busy a road. Incidentally, my office is situated close to the road and the only route to any part or anywhere for that matter is via the express.
I drove out of the premises with the technician beside me, got on the express and headed towards the technicians workshop, which is just along the express too. As usual, traffic was heavy. The technician cautioned me to slow down and drive carefully. (He had earlier narrated a story of how he was delivered from a ghastly accident and was still cautious about vehicles). It was while I was kidding him on why he was being a chicken that the devil struck. A 911 Benz truck was coming on the other lane; there was this bike in front of me. I positioned myself to overtake as the truck came abreast of me. All of a sudden, the steering seemed to have a will of its own. The car swerved to the opposite lane. My brother beside me was doing the right thing. He kept on saying ‘Jesus,Jesus’ as we were tossed to and fro on the express by the devil. I can imagine it was a battle between God and satan. Satan drags the car towards the trailer and God brings it back to safety. This happened just within seconds, but it was like eternity. I held tightly to the wheels and applied brakes on and off as God directed me. The trailer flashed past in a blur of motion. The car rotated another complete 360 degrees, tires screeching and squealing almost turning right over, and came to a grinding halt on the other side of the road, facing where I was coming from. In no time people had gathered. How God stopped incoming vehicles from slamming or ramming into us is baffling. But I know this- if God be for us, who can be against us? That little prayer you say before leaving your house each morning goes a long way. That little thanks you give to God for even the most minute thing is not in vain. Somebody praise God for me. Today, February 26th 2007,  is a day I’ll remember for good. Thanks folks. Drive safe.

My brother, i thank God for youoooo. It was really a miracle and you're right about the power of prayers, and God sure does work in a mysterious way.
