Indigenous Rhymes And Game Songs From Yester Years?
« on: February 27, 2007, 12:01 AM »

These days all you hear is Peter Piper, , Jack and Jill,  Pussy cat, pussy cat,

When we were growing up we learnt a number of songs and rhymes like:

Labe igi oronbo, n'ibe la gbe nsere wa
Inu wa dun, ara wa ya
L'abe igi oronbo

and,

Be be be ko le be
Iya mi ko le be
Baba mi ko le be
Be be be l'omode nbe

Do you remember indigenous rhymes and game songs from yester years?

Naijacutee, the introduction song made me laugh, I forgot about it completely.

Another short song girls/boys used in cultural as they wriggled their tiny buddie is:

Omo’ba ti’o ni’ikebe
Gba lo wo’e
Ko mo lo
