Zoborodo (aka) Zobo Drink
« on: February 27, 2007, 10:34 PM »

Zobo drink as it is popularly called is made from some dried colored leaves(red), the plants are grown in the northern part of Nigeria and the drink actually originated from there.
there are various ways of preparation.
This is my own way
first wash the zobo leaves in clean water to rinze off dirts
then put in a pot and add adequate water
pound ginger into a paste and add.
add pineapple peels (optional)
allow to boil for bout 30mins to extract the juice,
then remove from heat and filter with a fine seive.
add syrup(melted sugar) this is also optional because i don't use sugar, instead i use a sweatner called Jolly, foster clarks or Nutri C. this sweetners also come with diff flavours like pineapple, orange, strawberry etc. Flavours could also be added. then allow to chill because its best served chilled.

please I opened this thread so u guys can post your methods because i know there are several ways of making zobo and also several flavours and spices that could be added to make a difference. Please lets share
