@ toshmann
good to know you arent bitter .men are just a little bit scared of what an empowered woman can do.but not giving women opportunity is like shooting yourself in the foot. its a well known fact that when you educate a woman and give her the wherewithal her kids are better off and the nation as a whole progresses. after all we make up more than half the population!!!!!! ok. all men are created equal. yes but are all men created equal in reality? no. some are born to be succesful while others are born wretched. some have more opportunity than others while others have less opportunities. some are born with physical or mental advantage. e.t.c
You are missing the point here.  Holding the truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, refers to the limitless natural resources they're able to access in life, as well as perhaps their ability to move up the ladder. there are/should be no restrictions.
in a marriage you can argue otherwise since a man is always wanting to be the head (it's a testosterone thing)
Quote
"all men are created equal" the phrase was used in the political sense to mean that every man has an equal stake in the "unalienable rights"  which are liberty, life and the pursuit of happiness. whether rich or poor, strong or weak, all men have the same natural rights in the new democracy.

you know that this "all men are equal" wasn't made to include neither blacks nor women. these two underpriviledged groups didn't hold much stake in the new democracy.
That's a disturbing thing to say, especially after you stated that it was used to mean that "every man has an equal stake in the unalienable rights."
I already told you man in this sense refers to all of us.  I can also argue using your logic that it doesn't say "all men excluding blacks and women"
Quote
again, feminists seek political, economic and social equality. this is achievable (and the proove is the contrast between the situation of women in the western and advanced countries vs women in  third world and islam nations).
Let them continue to seek it, I have no problem with that.
It is hard comparing third world nations to the western countries.  By tradition, culture, and religion, their ways of living are different.
It is extremely difficult to debase a way of life that has been established for many years in one night.
Quote
all men are created equal. but will you see a black man and call him a white man? NO but is it possible that they can have political, economic and social equality YES.
I can't begin to fathom how you've absolutely misinterpreted the meaning of this quote.
I hope you can ask a historian at your school for better understanding.  Your scope of thought is errant.
Quote
you say you're against gender-based oppression?
of course
Quote
well, both sexes have to be on an equal level in other for it to be less likely that one will be able to dominate the other.
If you really think that's possible, you're hallucinating.  There's nothing wrong in advocating for it, but realistically, please.

nairaland ad:
women make up half of the globe but make up 75% of poor people
women do most of the farm work but only 1% are farm owners
And this is credible because it is a nairaland ad? lol.
